Was just at our dealer filling out credit app and initial paperwork, CA again mentioned someone from Corp was at their dealer yesterday and said 11/1 sale date for customer ordered cars.

Agreed. That is the info they have as of today. All it tells me is BMW has really screwed this up. Dealers want to move the X5s.

Dealer told me this evening that the reported sale date must be November 1st. He said he would sell his only one tomorrow and let it off the lot but report the sale on November 1st.

Sounds like an accounting ploy.

Maybe not in Illinois but here in California they are.

That would make it record for the month of October. Doubt that's going to happen. Never know.

November is the official retail month for the G05 in Canada as well. That's not going to stop some dealerships from delivering them a bit early and then officially retailing it in November. Same thing happened here with the G30 5er and G01 X3.

Has anyone been notified that their Stop Sale items have been fixed ?

I was hoping for a Nov. 1st delivery but my Stop Sale items have not been corrected --- yet. Maybe something will happen in the next 2 days.

As an FYI to everyone. My dealer just called and said I can pick mine up on Friday 11/2. It's been at the dealer since last week, he said they have everything they need to release it to me

Programming Issue Resolution Timing

He said this is a quick update that shouldn't hold the car up very long. He did say the fix was starting to be applied today to vehicles and they hope to release our X5 by Monday or Tuesday next week to be shipped to our dealer.
Having a debate with myself: alert my CA to this, or don't. I'm scheduled to take delivery on 11/2 of my 40i that's been at the dealer since 10/19. It's all falling into place.

I'm concerned that I'll hear on 11/1 or 11/2 that they can't release the car to me until they first do this reprogramming task. So one thought is: alert them to this now, so they can fully address it before 11/2... or don't, and take the risk they'll learn of this issue later in the week and my delivery gets delayed.

I'm inclined to not upset the apple cart, let the sleeping dog lie.

Any informed opinions out there?

The software update was also released to dealers. I would assume BMW is requiring dealers with X5s on the lot to install the update. I wouldn’t worry about it.

It may end up being the 2nd, but my CA told me this past Saturday the 1st was possible.

Another update on our X5. Programming fix is set to be completed by EOD Thursday at Oxnard VPC with a truck scheduled for Saturday to ship car to our dealer. Arrival by Monday the 5th (possibility it might arrive Sunday).

Dealer told me today two new ones have been added. Every X5 he has now can not be sold (and some were due to be delivered tomorrow).

You/your CA certain you're not referring to the programming issue related to door open time delay after impact?

I’m not sure. He mentioned it was a lane departure warning type issue. Earlier he had texted me this

Stop Sale ends soon for me

Oxnard VDC reports that all three pre-delivery campaigns (recalls) on my X5 should be completed by the end of this week (Friday, November 2), and the vehicle released to the trucking company.

Fixes for underbody baffles and the negative battery cable will be finished tomorrow. All that will remain will be to flash the X5 with the new software, which is a quick process.

This has been a month and half wait for me. My dealer is ready to sell the vehicle as soon as it arrives.
