You might be right that it doesn't have one. But I swear I saw a photo of a cover over it somewhere...if I find it again I'll post it.

Not sure since they are launching the new model in Abu Dhabi motors whether they have acquired the authority approval to include/activate the connected drive (like in dubai) or still not working?
I'm still angry as bought my car x6 Msport 18 from Abu Dhabi and still not able to get the ConnectedDrive activated due to authorities approvals in there as claimed by the dealer there
Hey! That's the first I've heard of the Connected Drive issue there. The Khalidiya and Umm al Nar showrooms have a G05 on display. I'd be surprised if none of the Dubai dealers don't have it as well.
No, funny enough connected drive is available in dubai (AGMC) but not in Abu Dhabi (Abu Dhabi motors)!!

They claims ministry of interior in Abu Dhabi is rejecting to authorize the activation of connectedDrive...so I have all the option of connecteddrive in my car (even CarPlay) but rendered useless without activation !

So better you check before thinking buying from Abu Dhabi motors

Kokiiiz AGMC in Dubai on SZR does have the G05. I think they sent all the same ones to dealers for display, as the one from this post is a clone of the one in Dubai.

The price a "local" mentioned to you is accurate. I spoke with my guy in Dubai while I was there and the 6cyl will be just under 100k, and the V8 is about 128k. Considering there is a 2018 X5M with 2000km next door in the used showroom for a tad over 100k, I know where my money would go, lol.

The lower portion of the rear hatch/"tailgate" is now power as well.

At 6'4", I was shocked at the lack of rear seat space. The X3 has the X5 beaten badly in this area, as I sampled then back to back. I find the OP's post and photos much more accurate than the car review that shows a comparable picture. That driver may be over 6', but he is most likely a professional driver/racer and keeps that seat far more forward than the everyday driver. Definitely something to look at and research closely before buying.

The OP's review should be good for EURO buyers as well. My previous X5 and M3 were both GCC spec and not a single part was different from Euro spec.

Good stuff, thanks, ekbusdriver. Given car prices here, I don't know why the G05 price would be jacked up so very high.

It’s a very convenient feature for when you simply want to move the other side seat from your side or when a passenger steps into your car and doesn’t know very well how to adjust its seat. You press the ‘2’ and you can move the seat for him with your controls.
I love this new feature...I have passenger who are clueless on how to move their seat. and my ocd kicks in after they leave, I have to fiddle around to move the pass seat back.

Really?!?! I had no idea.

Kinda think the taillights of F15 are a winner for me...I can't seem to get the new design on the G05...looks more like a Mercedes design?!
Also, they've reserved the headlights connecting to the grills for the LCI...you can already see the curve...which would make the F15 look relevant again.

This is exactly same as my F15...very comfortable premium seats with cooling fan (perforated)...everything is power adjusted all the way to the headrest...the 3rd row is a bit crampy for sure...kids sit comfortably...

Opening up the hood, I see little clips on top of the front nose that appear to be for the front grille (which now is so big is seems to be one piece of chrome), and/or the moving louvers just behind the grille. If it is indeed for the grille, it seems it might be able to be easily removed, to paint or replace, so it's blacked out.

Yeah the f15 is still a modern looking ride. It's definitely not as big of a change as it was between the e70 and f15.

Extremely helpful post. Your observations on the 2nd row room, or lack of it, convinced me that I will not order one. Thanks.

Saw my first one live today on the way back from the driving range. Folllowed it to a Walmart, yes a Walmart, and took some pictures. I managed to park next to it in my 2014 X5 so I could really compare and take some pics. Here’s one.

Must be an employee or factory car? Dealers can’t sell them until 11/1.

Looks good though!!

It had regular South Carolina plates, but the woman driving it did look like she may have just gotten off work at the plant. And was coming from that direction when I spotted her and tailed her.

That grill definitely needs blacked out in the middle, though... otherwise since there’s basically no separation it starts to resemble an old Buick grill or something...
