My understanding is you could only get the leather credit if your car completes being built before the end of November.

I think each dealer has allocations that fall within a certain number of weeks. If the build is outside the weeks where the leather credit was applicable, then the leather credit couldn’t be part of the build.

I tried to skirt the system and have ZDY (SOP 12/18) added to my week 48 build. My CA tried to do it and gave me a new build week instead - because the system wouldn’t let him add ZDY to a week 48... I lost my leather credit. He fixed it and put me back in my original production number.

Basically, you can’t have your cake and eat it too. No ZDY AND leather credit. At least, didn’t work for me...

@lumpydog can we expect our week 49 builds to start sometime next week and be completed sometime the week of 12/3?

For reference, my week 46 started production 11/11. Completed production on 11/14. Completed QC on 11/15. Awaiting carrier assignment since 11/16. Dispatched from factory late today. Should be at dealership in the morning.

Week 46 is 11/11-11/17 this year. Week 49 is 12/2-12/8.

At what point did you guys see the vin? BMW genius says week 49 but my bmw show scheduled for production with a production number.

Production number will change over to VIN once production begins. Generally, if you have a week “n” build, your X5 will complete production within that week. You should see it enter production 5 business days prior to the day it completes production. So all you week 49 build peeps should shift to production next week.

I say “generally”, because I started as a week 46 build but was delayed a few weeks - I’m guessing because I added the Parking Assistance package after placing my initial order, which had parts rumored to be constrained. I was moved to week 48 and went into production today (this is week 47).

I'm wondering at this point if ZDY is truly software only and even those that ordered ZDB will get ZDY since it's just what's there right now.

Since week 49 and 48 are starting build this same week it would make sense. Same price, a available early, why not right?

It is still pretty early for a week 49 to start, they will continue to start product through mid to late next week and then finish sometime the following week as late as Dec 7th or 8th.
