My client advisor is telling me that if I finance through BMW FS, I won't get the $500 military rebate. Can someone confirm this?

Available credit through BMW FS:
Apr credit: $2500
Loyalty: $1000

If I finance through PENFED/cash
$3,250 - military rebate

The offers are still there but keep in mind that you need to be a member 60 days before you can get an offer code. If you are ex-military then you can get your offer code immediately either on BMW site or TrueCar when you are verified.

Your CA is wrong. The military incentive is $500 when you finance or lease with BMWFS. It s $3,250 when you do not. It is clearly stated on the offer sheet.

Looks like the 45e qualifies, but submit your info to get your offer code via Penfed

Got it. Yea - spoke to my CA again and he is refusing to do it. I may have to just cancel the order bc other dealers are willing to do it.

Only thing is - PenFed offer may change in Jan. 2022 bc seems like current offer expires on Jan. 3rd 2022

There actually is no such thing as the PenFed incentive so if you are calling it that, it could be why he is refusing/confused. This is the Domestic Military incentive and all dealers will accept it. One of the ways to qualify for it is to be a member of PenFed for more than 60 days. Just tell him you are going to use the domestic military incentive and you should be fine.

You are correct in regards to the incentive possibly changing. It is renewed each January but the amounts sometimes change. You will get the amount available at delivery and not at time of order.

As I mentioned many times before, if you walk into the dealership and exclaim "I would like to use the Penfed military discount" they will likely direct you to ID.me process, which is the actual military verification system. If you walk in with your Penfed rebate certificate and say something to the effect of "I'd like to use this manufacturers rebate from Penfed" you're likely to have more success. The language is important in order to navigate BMWs mess of a rebate system.

There is no such such thing as a rebate from PenFed, it is just one way to get the Domestic Military incentive. As soon as PenFed is mentioned many dealers, who are not aware of all of the program details, balk because they don't now what PenFed is.

I still have not received a good answer from my CA - he said yes there is a military offer and he is aware of it now. He didn't know what PenFed was but now he knows it's actually a military offer. He still hasn't said whether they'll honor it or not. It's the holidays and I am sure he's off/busy - so I'll give him a couple more days to get back to me.

This is the drawback of purchasing the car over the phone/internet. It's far enough that I can't just walk in and talk to them in person. But we will see.

You should hopefully be fine. All dealers should, actually I think have to, honor the military incentive. The problem arises when the dealer, likely the CA, doesn’t understand the program.

The Offer is valid at any BMW Dealership. I recommend printing your certificate and sending it to them. Have them call BMW if they have any doubt. The offer states (2nd screenshot) on how the dealer can claim this rebate. Clarify that it's coming directly from BMW and there is no Dealer contribution to get it.

1st page on your rebate will give you the offer Code to be applied. The 2nd page will tell the dealer on how they can apply it.
