2024 X5 50e - Check Engine Light

First major snowstorm I took my 50e out in, temps are 19 degrees F. Got home, left 10 min later and the check engine light came on, went into the status computer and it says everything is OK. Anyone else encounter this?

I had a similar issue when temps were really low. As I drove to the dealership the next day, the CEL came off and the code stored was the radiator flap was stuck. Service said it was weather related and sent me on my merry way. Hopefully, it's something small and not the other issue with the battery module

Good to know thanks. I’ve found trying to keep the windshield from the wet snow freezing has been a pain, not sure if anyone has cracked that code on what the best setting is here.

Bring it to the dealer and they will let you know the code. Make sure it has the latest software updates, as the car is part ICE and part iOS.

Thanks. It went away once I had it in the heated garage. Have an appointment this Thursday though at dealership just to make sure it’s nothing that needs to be addressed.

I think you are the fourth person to have the grill shutter error in the last week. I don't remember having this happen in previous winters, they may have redesigned something.

It must be when it starts up and checks the shutter as I was on all electric the entire drive and didn’t get above 35 mph as it was in town.

Yes, that is when they are likely activated.
