Thus in many cases dealership are willing to sell you the car well under invoice price.
I think the dealer still receive the holdbacks also which are, or at least were, 5% of MSRP the last I saw.

2024 BMW X6 Replacement Parts - WARNING! UPDATE

So - According to BMW, they still have no idea when the part will be available. It's going take awhile. Moral of the story - Watch out and take care that your new BMW X6 doesn't need a replacement part, if you do, are out of luck, at least for now.

But if you have a with fender bender or other damage, BMW does not have the parts available to repair the car. In other words, if you have major damage, right now - your brand new car can't be fixed.

It is impossible to repair my vehicle; why is BMW unable to issue a warning to customers when buying this brand?"

BMW's is not able deliver spare parts to fix their vehicles.

BMW has struggled since the beginning of June to ship components on time because of a new supply-management system being introduced in its central warehouse in Germany. The delays have caused ripple effects globally because orders for BMW's 40 parts-distribution centers originate at the main facility in Dingolfing. The warehouse also directly supplies about 300 repair shops in Germany.
They can easily pull a taillight from plant 10 with no problem .

One would think so, but they will not do that. It's called Just-In-Time manufacturing (JIT manufacturing). Other manufacturers are the same.

I’m aware I work in assembly. Trust me I’m well aware of how it works at plant 10 😂. They have pulled parts in the past from assembly. It’s rare but it has happened.

There are always the exceptions.
But then in those very, very rare cases, I bet it was for some top management personnel who had the steam to get the part they needed.
For the rest of us peons, it will not happen.

"Holdback" being a credit towards a subsequent order paid on a sold vehicle has normally been around 3%. BMW may credit their dealers a full 5% on a sold vehicle but that seems exceptionally high.
