Wow, I just ordered and spec'd my xDrive40i with the seat package and M-Sport package. The HK system disappeared from my build sheet already, but if the M-Sport disappears as well, that would be a deal breaker.

It may be time to broaden your search geographically. I peruse CarGurus and search nationwide, and heavily optioned X5s are listed. If you’re committed to a certain set of options, you may have to do business further from home, with or without your local’s dealer’s participation. (Many dealers trade stock or allocations with one another, but these are strange times indeed.)

My loaded MSport just got more desirable. These supply chain issues are horrible.

The base audio is horrendous. I wouldn't buy the vehicle without M-Sport or HK Audio personally. Search nationwide like others have suggested and find one optioned with these "must have" features from a dealer's lot stock. Seriously ... listen to the base audio .... its crap! |

In so far, these changes in options are very fluid and dynamic. They haven't been set in stone for any model year. We can all hope that as the world recovers so will the supply chain and all of these options will return very soon during the 22 model year.

Wonder what here will apply to the U.K. market - we were able to get some of these items even though US customers weren't able to (initially).
I guess this list will apply globally. I am already a proud owner so none of this affects me but it's a kicker for someone like me who was going into the G05 for the first time. If this happened Q4 last year, I'd have gone for the X5 M50i or even an X7 without any hesitation. 330dMSXD May be worth checking with Park Lane *just in case* Edit: Just seen the X7 forum and they are similarly affected for the 40i model. https://g07.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1822831 |

I don't feel so bad about perhaps overpaying a touch on my CPO X5 M sport with Premium Package, HK, Park Assist, HUD. Not sure if any of those are duplicates as part of the premium pkg as I did very little homework other than looking at available inventory and prices of comparable models.
On the HK, I agree it's good enough, especially since it's my wife's car. If it was my car I'd probably look into Bavaudio solution or some aftermarket stealth subwoofer. |

Two weeks ago I received a email from PL confirming that my 'loaded' G05, which was originally given an estimated delivery date of October has now moved to 'build' date of wk25 (June) I have not received any other further notifications......Yet! But im guessing it will not be long......or have BMW hatched some strategic plan relating to the imminent change over to 22MY?! Having worked in new model introduction it is generally organised chaos at the best of times due to the logistics of change over. It is normal for a phased run out of previous model year components combined with a confirmed VIN cut off. A gentle introduction of new model components and process/engineering changes is then followed by a ramp up to volume production, which is dependant on supplier logistics. We are not living in normal times so it could be BMW being selective in build specifications to run out contracted component supplies or it could be (and im rather inclined to believe) that component supplies are greatly in short supply All will become clearer in the coming weeks and months. |

Feeling even better buying out my lease. If the wife and I can ever agree we'll use it as a trade. I want a sport sedan but she wants another SUV. Maybe a used Cayenne?

Porsche website designers will have to be made redundant - they will have to drop from 20+ pages of options for any given model to 2 pages.
How will they cope? |

Kilter (https://kilter.com/) is a great tool for searching for specific option packages. I’m not affiliated - I just found it really valuable when I was hunting for mine, and I decided to go “off the lot” vs order for just the same supply chain challenges.
