Garage List
A lot of this stuff is standard in Australia, I'd say M-Sport.

These cars are best ordered loaded with all options. Better question is. What would you give up? List 3-4 options you can live without in decending order

- night vision
- leather dashboard
- b&w stereo
- integrated steering
- ventilated seats
- dhp

This would be my sacrifice list if i needed to save 10k and still have a great car

Really, all options? If you've got money to flush away - and more options doesn't mean it's going to hold its value more. Individuals have different value propositions and needs.

Stuff don't need or care:
- Night vision
- B&W
- Ventilated seats
- DHP (cause it's 50i onry)

A lot of options depends on the climate you live in. Heated seats are a must in the snow belts but not down south. Options like 360 camera are a no brainer as it is the best in the industry. Many options really are more about the owner and how willing they are to adopt new technology. This could be a generational perspective.

We need a “M Brakes” option on the list. That’s a major option many accidentally missed when ordering/buying.

I agree - M brakes are a must have on this car. BMW makes it confusing. Why are they not part of M pack?

I'm trying to build one for my brother in law and cant seem to get them on x line - it says it needs convenience pack. Did anyone order M brakes without M pack?

As for all options and money - i think those options make the car what it is. I thought i never would need Driving assistance but i use it everyday in traffic. remote start, 3d view, connected drive - become necessity.

Some small options are cheap - acoustic glass, glass controls, M brakes. especially if you lease.

Big ones to decide are Luxury seating, DHP or x-0ff road and B&W stereo - 10 K right there.

The must have options are:

1. Choose xLine or M Sport
2. Select at least Premium or Executive Tier
3. The rest is up to you - nothing is a must have unless you like people telling you how to spend your money.

And I thought BMW Canada was bad at deciding this kind of stuff (i.e. they decided only very recently that us Canadians might want to have remote start).

From what I gather, in the US, it is like 6k USD more for the m-sport line and you don't get the M-sport brake in that.

Here the M-sport package is 3k CAD (approx 2300 USD) and includes it.

I live in Houston, but I love heated seats and wheel even if I use it two weeks in a year.

Thank you all for your feedback and choices. I didn't post this poll to find out perfect X5, but to see people's opinions. We do not have the same budget and preferences and I am ok with that. We are all different.
But I think everybody agrees that things like HUD and Surround View are the most popular features based on this poll.

The beauty of the new X5 is that it can be ordered up to have so many different personalities and priorities to fit the owners needs. The BMW ordering system is unusually complicated so you really need to investigate every option and never assume a feature comes standard.
The 3D camera is brilliant and offers up so many views it’s hard NOT to recommend it to everyone.

I think - the most important decisions is the suspension. You have to decide if you want air or steel springs.
Like Mystro said - it will change the character of the car.
40 or 50 - is another big decision

small inexpensive options make a difference as well.
Glass controls
acoustic glass
M brakes
HK Stereo
trailer hitch

All under a grand
