Was just informed my X5 has a 'thermal event' so right now doesn't look like I'll be picking it up tomorrow. This could cost me the tax credit :-(

If worst comes to worst, since the vehicle is in the dealer's possession they can do the paperwork. See if they will allow you to finalize the deal and drive it off the lot and back on. This way you will meet the requirements of putting it into service. There should be no risk to you since they will take care of any problem under warranty.

Mine is still in Renton yard...waiting for truck, no sure if I can get it by EOY.

If not, I probably won't pick it up, it's hard to accept the missing of $7500.

I picked up my 45e today, was a relatively smooth experience. This is my first BMW and first vehicle with adaptive cruise — was fun driving it back home and seeing what it could do.

Taking it for a drive down to Santa Cruz tomorrow to have fun at the beach.

I'm glad the long wait is over. After all that's transpired, including an ordered vehicle being totaled in transit, I'm amazed it is done and it all happened before December 31.

I have the ultimate delay: BMW NA won't let them sell it, regardless. They've to ship it back so they can figure out what happened.

Very sorry to hear it, that is really unfortunately and unexpected. The car passed the factory Quality Check (only you know how long that was!) and that should have identified the issue.
The 7.5k incentive is out of time; maybe is better to ship it back and get a different one.

I picked up our week 46 Manhattan Green Metallic 45e today from Kuni. It’s certainly impressive and looks every bit as expensive as it was — little out of place in Portland proper. It’s gonna take a while to get used to this one.
