My first BMW’s air suspension (a 2011) used a literal air bag that could be bought on E-Bay for about $30, and easily changed in maybe a half hour…the ones currently used on the G05 are a much more integrated part of the suspension. The older ones were more susceptible to physical damage that could create a leak. From what I’ve seen, that’s no longer the case.

Never said it couldn’t leak, just that it’s more integrated into the suspension and less likely to become abraded or a hole poked in it…so, yes, as things wear oul, they can leak, but damage is less likely to might make that happen sooner. My first BMW with air springs were more similar to an add-on air spring. On EBay, you can still buy a pair of them for about $125 (p/n 37106781843)…the G05’s is a totally different animal.
