So I picked up my car and really not happy with the surface scratches. I feel like I cant even touch the car without adding more. The gloss black window trim is all scratched up and I cant seem to get them out, only making it worse...

really putting a damper on the excitement I had. Love the car otherwise but this is really bothering me.

Will post pictures soon/tomorrow when the sun comes out. Currently storming.

may wanna consider paint correction to restore the clear coat. I don't know if the same process can reduce/remove the scratches from the black glossy trims, though.

something I learned here from others more experienced is to dictate to the dealership what they can or can't do prior to picking up the vehicle, such as don't wash, don't remove protective films/coverings, don't drill into the bumper to mount a license plate mount, etc.

mine had defects caused by my dealership as well (some defects come from the factory). because I opted to install matte ppf, my detailer didn't feel the need to do any paint correction, which saved me a few bucks.

Was this from dealer prep?

Hard to say. They are gonna replace the interior trim piece. The exterior gloss black trim around the window can't be replaced. They are gonna have an outside detailed look at it.

They seem to be trying but nothing has been done yet. I'll likely need to have a paint correction done. Sucks when you spend this kind of money and then need to spend more to fix things.

It definitely looks like poor dealer prep. But the rear window glazing is replaceable.

i thought 747 is a square setup, no ?

Nope, 747s are a staggered fitment. All 22s are staggered fitment on the G05.

Yes, you can correct gloss black trim (B pillars, etc.), same as you do on paint. Start with mild finishing polish and pad, and work progressively with more aggressive products until scratches disappear, then use finishing products to remove any hazing.

I recently corrected my trim with medium pads and polish, and the results were perfection. I then applied ceramic coating (specialized for trim and wheels) to protect them from scratches going forward.
