Getting the information you are asking about from a car enthusiast site is discouraged. Worst case is you are found guilty and convicted of a felony. Unlikely, but that's the game you are presently playing.

Try Google searching, and focus on gun law specific websites, and the state legal code of your state, city or District. Are you in Maryland, or the District? The District has some of the most restrictive firearm laws in the country. You are advised to become intimately familiar with them.

Local gun shop owners and employees are, on average, orders of magnitude more informed than anonymous posters on car enthusiast sites. Take a trip down to your nearest LGS or indoor pistol range, buy some ammo and talk to the people there. The local police station can be a source of credible information. Some LEOs are willing to answer direct questions on gun law topics, some aren't.

Car enthusiasts in my view are best to give pointers to others, for reference reading material. Offering specific advice or interpretation is a high risk endeavor - example: magazine capacity regulations.

Summary:
- don't take advice on law-related topics from car enthusiasts, you are at risk of committing a felony if you or the car enthusiast is wrong
- use Google to find gun law sites and the legal code for your geography of interest
- visit the LGS or pistol range and talk to people there
- visit the local police station and talk to people there
Thanks. I ended up purchasing from my local gun shop, so I'm good now. Thanks for everyone's help!

Nice ! I’ve been casting longing glances that way as I have more 9MM ammo to shoot than anything. Where did you get your parts? What barrel length did you choose? What buffer system did you decide on? Did you get LRBO?

Thanks,
Gene

I did lots of researches and bought my parts online from lots of places. I went with a 9.5 in barrel and the rail is 10.5 in, I went with JP Enterprises Silent Captured Springs 9mm Buffer to use with Maxim CQB PDW pistol brace. JP Enterprises 9mm Bolt Carrier. I went with ar15 lower and using EndoMags. Hiperfire Hipertouch Eclipse 2lb trigger.

Is that a P238? My wife has one and its a jewel. Easy to shoot and the quickest back on target of any of my handguns.

Saw this thread-----glad to see some interest in firearms. I have a few and enjoy collecting and shooting. Competed in 1k bench rest for a time but work and the travel kind of took too much time.

My latest--have not shot it yet but Colt is making the Anaconda again. Got it a couple of weeks ago.

These are also mine. Marc is also a friend of mine and I have "some" of his work. It is a fault of mine---I enjoy the good stuff.

I refuse to answer the question on the grounds that it may tend to incriminate me

Figured I'd ask here for more direct visibility to my question and a bit more discretion vs starting a thread -

What're you guys using / what solutions have you found for CCW storage when you have to leave your carry gun in the car for some reason? I use ConsoleVault for my SUV / trucks but they don't make anything for BMWs. I'd like to have something a bit more secure than the little loose wallet style safes that you throw under a seat, someone can still run off with that easily. Don't want to have something obvious like a range bag either though. Not sure on a solution at the moment.

You said you were looking at a .380 for concealed. My post further back shows my pocket 9 mm. Those are my thoughts

Something I've done for the past four vehicles... in the trunk or rear hatch area (suv)... behind either a removable panel or easily movable side panel...

I've mounted one of those cheap metal (16ga or 20ga) lock boxes typically used with the wrap around cable and tossed under the seat - type of safes.
Bolted to a cross member, or glued to a floor pan or sidewall...

combination lock - so i never have to worry about an extra key.

If somebody wants it bad enough, yes, they can gain access with some basic hand tools... but it most certainly is not grab-n-go easy, which serves my purpose for temporary storage when needed.

I'd prefer something where I can disarm and stow before I get out of the driver's seat. Never know who's watching you come around the back and stuff it in the trunk, that just stands out as atypical behavior and might make some more curious than they need to be.

Any recommendations on the lock boxes?
