Just received my VIN and Production Date of 8/4.

Awesome! My vin has been added on MyGarage and a call to Genius has given me the same date as 8/4.

This is karma payback for always telling my kids not to get a car made on a Friday.

Hahaha. It will finish on Friday, you may enter the line on Wednesday or Thursday.

It is only on the assembly line for about a half day. Of course the scheduled date can get moved up.

My last one crossed days from entering body assembly to quality check but it could have been just how the system reported it.

My 50e just went to production begins! 8/2 build date. No special order color (Skyscraper grey).

ProdDate moved up to 7/29 (from 8/1). Dealer said could be on the lot as soon as 7/31.

Same here, I moved up to 7/28. Hoping for a clean run through production to the dealer

Genius told me this morning that my start date was moved up to 7/28 as well but my completion date remained 8/4 for our M60i.

I would love to pick up next week but seems like the following week is more likely.

Usually the prod date is the date it will finish assuming you don't get stuck in QC. What date does F12 show you in my garage?

Correct, proddate is the date its supposed to finish. The only remaining variable typically is carrier access. Its impossible to guage when you'll be loaded on a full truck so they can depart.

My CA said if it gets on a truck after completion on Saturday or Sunday, they see these arrive in Chicago the next day from Spartanburg.

This makes no sense so just ignore it. There is only a production date and not a completion date since they are the same day. Use the F12 process to verify the correct date. Usually Genius doesn't;t give out the production date but rather the week.

Does the F12 process work only after one has a VIN?

No, it doesn't depend on status. What does is the prodDate data item which contains the production date. That will not be filled in until you hit Production Begins (150).

My f12 still shows prodDate: "2023-08-04" as of right now.

Thanks. Just to clarify, I will not see a production date until it hits status 150 at which time I'll also have a VIN.

That is correct. Prior to 150 the option codes associated with the build will show but the prodDate data item will be null.

Thanks much. Since I'm asking questions........I check myBMW at least daily. I'm a wk 32 production and still at status 112 so I'd expect it to move to 150 any day now. Is there a certain time of day the factory updates the status? Or is it simply random?
