The update just downloaded to my phone - in the process of applying the update to my 45e. Seems to take forever to transfer to the vehicle.

I did same yeasterday. But I can’t install it until I drive notifies me I can. There is no button to install it. Odd!

Yes it can take a few hours. Just drive as normal and eventually it will notify you.

All done now, vehicle has to be in drive-ready state for the transfer to take place then you can switch to park and begin the install. Smooth install process, took about 20 mins.

I just got notice in my x5 saying the update was preparing or something. As I noticed the message I was turning the car off. Hopefully turning the car off as it's downloading doesn't cause an issue.

Go to Car -> Settings -> General Settings -> Remote Software Upgrade and it will show what version you have.

Are you sure it wasn't a map update? If not, I believe you are the first in the US to get the 07/2022 OTA update.

Wow, this is substantial. I have always wondered how significant are the OTA updates on non-Tesla cars. My wife has a 2018 x3 M40i but it doesn't have OTA update support.

Understood thanks - I was just giving more details and adding that it wasn't simply a map update.

Very curious if there are any noticeable behavior changes; always a little nervous when I see things like new disclaimers in release notes, I'm really hoping there's not a new nag screen to click through every time I start or something.

Good to see some work on optimizing the lane departure warnings/intervention, though; will probably need to re-enable that after the update hits my vehicle, and see if it's less bad this time around.

I received a notification from the MyBMW app earlier this week that this update was available. I downloaded it to my iPhone then transferred it to our ‘20 X5 and it is ready to install but hasn’t yet, mainly because we haven’t driven it much this week.

My car was telling me while I was sitting in the garage last night that there was an update. A message I've never seen before. It's too cold to drive it today (tires) so I haven't had a chance to look at what version I run or what happens when I turn it back on. I'll have time mid day to get to the garage and check.

you should have a message in your notifications and RSU section in the services tab of the app about the RSU (circled)

This is pretty much what was in the description of my download last night in the bmw app.

I'm waiting for warm enough weather to drive, I'm very curious how this update will affect handling. I also noticed something in the download that may be related to performance, can't remember without going back and looking. I hope the update doesn't negatively affect my ability to drive fast….
