Hi all,
Three years ago I ran my 2021 M50i on the same stretch, untuned listed my results and got a 4.1 0-60. This was at 6000 thousand feet with a high very high DA. Exact same tires as I have on the new ride.(Bridgestone AT) Today I ran my new X5 M60i on the exact same stretch of road, weather was cold at 37° which helps but density altitude up near the 6000 mark as well as true altitude above 6000 feet. There was wheel chirping for at least one to two seconds, so I know I can do better, but tires were cold and they they are all terrain. This was with LC I will try other methods when I have more time. 1/8 mile results also attached. Also much quicker than I expected . I was not able to complete the quarter-mile as I let off around 95mph at a turn and still got a 12.21. I will try for the quarter-mile somewhere safer for that run. Always peformed with no cars around and excellent longer range visibility. Let’s just say this new engine is next level So glad I grabbed this beauty. I loved my old one, but there is so much more to like about the LCI IMO P.s. maybe Santa will bring me a Race Chip black for Christmas 🎄

Yes I am. Castle Rock, hence the higher altitude than Denver . I would love to take it north of Denver, where the altitude goes down into the 4,000 range and see if that helps but not a big deal. Will be nice to see another one out on the road! Truth be told those twin turbos take a lot of elevation out of the equation anyways.

Yes. Although I will try other methods later, as I used to to get a quicker time, just brake boosting.

Damn thats fast for a stock car.
I have been addicted to Dragy runs since I tuned my pre-LCI 40i - it always feels like you can get a better time doesn't it? I'm getting 4.2s 0-60 consistently but I think 4.1 is achievable if the stars align for me You could probably see a ~3.3 in perfect conditions. |

This is outstanding especially with a 6,000 ft DA which would reduce a turbocharged engines power by roughly 9%(18% NA).
The 3.5 is great and not unexpected when you consider that C&D got a 3.8 with the nearly 6,000 lb X7 M60i. This should close the door on the crap about the 50e being just as fast or very close in straight line performance to the M60i. Obviouisly the M60i would stomp the heavier lower powered 50e and really not a surprise. I'm going to get a Draggy and do some sea level runs this winter here in S FL. 3.3 sec. is not out of the realm of possibility. The X6 M50i posted a very strong 3.8 in pro testing. The M60i which shows nearly 500HP to the rear wheels along with a mild hybrid boost would be expect to better the M50i's 3.8. I have owned both an M50i and an M60i. The M60i definetly "feels" faster and this Draggy verifies the SOTP meter. LOL. I own an M60i and can tell you that this a smokin fast SUV. Long live the V8! |

I’m not sure, but C&D I believe does the 1 foot roll out (google it) in their testings as well as MotorTrend, which usually shaves .1 to .2 off 0-60 time. They started reporting times this way years ago and I always wondered why? Regardless, if so, then the fair test is that I got a 3.37 as stated by dragy in the 1ft roll out column stat. A race chip would really be fun!

roll out. This is great stuff and is showing that the M60i is about a full second faster 0-60 than the 50e which is a huuuuge difference at these blistering levels. No grey area there. |

Interesting to note that there are many here including myself who have interest in this stuff. We were being told yesterday that no one cared about 0-60 etc. Guess that is not true.

Yep. Legit 3.37. At high altitude. On 20” wheels and shitty RF Bridgestone tires. . Go BMW!

Meh, the only time people don’t care about 0-60 is when they get smoked off the line. When those same people are doing the smoking they’re all about it lol.

Boost pressure will be the same, say 17PSI (if that is target boost) but the Turbo will be spinning a higher RPMS.
