23 X5-Can't get Alexa to work or "Apps" in My BMW to show connected. Carplay is fine
2023 X5. I have connected my phone to the car. I can see the apps on my phone using carplay, and I can wake Alexa with the name. But then, alexa does not process the rest of the command, and I get a screen telling me Alexa set up is not complete. It has instructions, but I did all of those, includeing "enable connections" option in Apps.
My BMW shows bluetooth and wifi connection, but not Apps. Still says "connection required" for that. I don't know how to enable that, which I think is what is holding this up. Any suggestions? |

It's a PITA and I usually don't bother since I don't use AA. |

I don't have AA running, and Alexa works fine. What I do notice is that when I first start driving, and it is showing the globe in the upper right hand corner Alexa won't work. ConnectedDrive needs to be fully up and running for it to work for me.

restart iPhone. worse comes to worse you may have to remove iPhone then add it again. with the recent rolling ConnectedDrive servers going down, it may be affecting your ability to set up
