If the rest of the ECU's are made available, I would say that 99% they can be enabled through coding. It seems like coding is very limited right now on the G05 since most ECU's cant be accessed. Anti-dazzle is another feature that I want to enable through coding
Is it normal for a new model to not have the ECUs available? Is it just trial and error until someone figures them out?

My previous X1 F48 has adaptive LED , and the cornering light alway turn on when we turning signal and it can be seen clearly. Also, i checked by VIN to make sure my car come with adaptive LED ( but at the headlamp it shows only “ BMW LED” and it should have the light adapt when we do the turn.

My CA/General Sales Manager (awesome folks) told me yesterday the "story" he got from BMW reference the deletion of the cornering lights has to do with JD Powers reliability ratings. BMW had/has lots of false negative complaints on the corning lights not working even though they do (in all series equipped with the feature).

The illegitimate reliability complaints were lowering BMW's JD Powers ratings...BMW's solution--delete corning lights on new design models like our G05 X5 and the new X7.

He also stated that cornering light was deleted after the training materials were printed.

Add this to BMW's narratives as to why we don't have cornering lights on our new X5s.

Umm...again another line from BMW that I’m not buying. The X7 has visible cornering lights. See below. And if this reliability story is true, why do all other 2019 models still have functional cornering lights when they could be coding them off to improve their JD power score? The new 850i with the same laser lights as the X5 work just fine!

Plus how could people think the cornering lights weren’t working on other models? Every model I’ve driven it was instantly obvious an additional light was coming on when turning. And instantly recognizable that our G05 is missing them!

I definitely agree. Probably an "urban myth" that was somehow started within BMW and now it is being passed along to dealers. Highly unlikely they would remove a feature that is working in all other models for the sake of a JD Power's rating.

Cornering Lights

Recently picked up me 2019 x5 40i at dealership and had cornering lights on my checklist. Dealership confirmed they showed active on system, but could not get mine or 4 other x5's on the lot with laser lights to come on. I took delivery, but they have an open ticket into BMW regarding this issue. I am on version 53 and have not had any other problems with vehicle. They believe a future software issue will fix.

Congrats! And thanks for having them look into it. The more people that report the issue the better!

One of the 2019 M850i owners sent me this video showing his laser light cornering lights working perfectly. Feel free to share this with your dealers!!

From all the advertisement, BMW document and publication we see so far, Adaptive Full LED headlight should comes with " Corning Light " as well.
This give the consumer like us impression that Cornering Light is a standard safety feature on all G05 X5.

If BMW does not make this right, they may get in trouble with " False Advertisement "

Before this forum I had never heard of cornering lights, saw nothing about them when I did my build, didn’t expect any. If it happens great, if it doesn’t, it won't bother me, best car I’ve ever driven.

To each their own... I was sold a car with a bunch of safety features that possibly don't work, or don't even exist at all - Cornering lights, braking assist, lack of spare tire, f***ed up steering in any sub zero temp, etc...

Everyday I ponder whether i should have just bought another Volvo, and as every day goes on I'm leaning more and more toward that thought sense.

True, it's kinda frustrating some of the stuff clearly not working as expected. I am seriously concerning about steering twitch issue hope all this will be resolved by the software update.

The funniest thing for me is "frontal collision warning" the warning is just visual in HUD/Dash no audio warning so far I haven't heard any Audio warning yet.I believe audio warning helps the distracted driver

In my Merc its very clear audio/visual

That is probably because you have reacted/the situation was resolved. There is a prewarning with just the visual and then the acute warming which includes the sound.

I would feel reassured to hear from someone that has experienced the "acute warning with brief activation of the braking system". With all the software glitches, I'd just like to know these collision avoidance systems we expect to work are indeed functioning as developed and purchased by us.
