I agree you can’t trust them and shouldn’t put all your trust in them even if they were knowledgeable as it’s a big purchase for all of us. We should take responsibility for our own decisions and knowledge as well.

This doesn’t excuse them from their job responsibilities tho

I can second that. On my ‘21 G11 7-series I just sold I had the massaging and ventilated comfort seats. They were noticeably firmer (tempted to say harder) than similar comfort seats in my brother’s G31 5-series, which had neither the massage function nor ventilation. His seats felt much more richly cushioned and perplexingly offered more comfort (in that I much preferred his seats over mine). With that experience, for the X5 M60i I’ve ordered I optioned the seats without the massaging function. Couldn’t delete the ventilation unfortunately

Truth be told, I used the massaging function only a few times over my 2-year ownership of the 7. It happened only when I reminded myself I have this gimmick. Never once felt I wanted to use it or that it gave me any value. As for the ventilation… given how bad it was at actually ventilating anything, I used it maybe twice. Total waste of money in my case

I’d be curious if there is a further difference btw the sensafin and merino. Any sensafin seat I’ve ever sat in had similar level of plushness whether with or without massage / ventilation etc..

I’ve sat in a few showroom x7s merino and found the seats much much firmer.

This is not an advertisement for sensafin I just wonder if they are able to do something different given the durability of synthetic product.

Before purchasing my x5, I sat in every possible seat configuration as comfort was a number one priority coming out of my x3 sport seats. I found the merino, massage and non massage to be the most uncomfortable. I tried three vehicles with the merino so I got a good idea of how they feel. The one I purchased has vernasca with massage, ventilation, and multi contour and are by far the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in. Still need to see how they are over a long drive. My x3 seats were incredibly painful after an hour.

I rented BMW X5 on a vacation, and didn't think that different seat configurations might feel different.
So I bough one without testing. I can tell for sure that my X5 2024, with multi-contour, ventilation, massage and regular sensafin are extremely painful after 30-60 minutes

I have had my 2024 X5 for 6 months now and I love the multi-contour, ventilation, heat, and massage. I was worried but I think it’s okay because we upgraded to leather!

Mine has the M electric sports seats with massage, ventilation and merino, very comfortable and can be adjusted to your liking.

I don't remember, I think it was the most basic one, sensafin sport heated.

I think my seats are great, coming from the 2019 BMW X3 M40i with ventilated seats that were kidney buster hard.

Yup I’ve been there. It go so bad that even after 15-20 I would have bad back aches. Squirming in my seat trying to get the discomfort to go away.

Went from the carbon bucket seats in my M3 to the ventilated and massage seats in the X5 M60i…love the seats and have zero comfort issues.

Granted the carbon buckets in the M3 weren’t uncomfortable either but they were a pain in the ass to get in and out of as a daily driver.

That should change in August as they are supposed to have all of the tech/luxury from the X5.

I hope so!!
I saw a spy shot of the x3 interior and it looked like bad seats still. Definitely did not have the multi contour

‘24 x5 m60i with merino leather, multi-contour, ventilated and massaging seats are very comfortable. I’ve driven up to 6 hours in one day and no complaints.

I would hope if they upgrade the interior materials they include the option for multi contour, I guess we should know in a few months. If done right, they could end up with a very compelling offering that would expand the current customer base.

Yes. If done right. I’d 100% take it over an x5 for a commuter car. X5 is arguably a bit large for that duty.

Are you guys factoring in the "break-in"-ability of the seats?

I assume merino leather would experience the biggest change with break-in due to it being a real leather.
I have standard leather and driver's seat and passenger seat have a very different feel due to it not being used very much.
