What update? Picked my X5 up today, and was able to start her with the app.

had it a week and there was no option for it. The dealer said it would be Jan-Mar until that worked. Today the app had an update and I saw the option to start.

As in, you can remotely start the vehicle without having ordered 1CR - Remote start? Or - it’s another method that works with 1CR?

Are you using iOS? I don't see an update available for the Android App.

I ordered 1CR but don't have the remote start option on latest IOS app. Is there something I need to do? Do I need an update from the dealer?

Does not work with key fob either.

No update notice of the iOS app , just uninstall and install the app again, you can find the remote start there.

Would you mind being specific about the iOS app version? Mine shows 10.0.1359, for example. When I started it this morning, there were things I had to agree to.

It isn’t called “Remote Start” in the app. It’s called “Climatize Now”. I’ve had this option available and functional since we picked up the car about a month ago.

So it's not an instant on type of deal. You set a timer for the engine to start. Looks like it needs a 5 min lead before it starts.

You can choose a schedule to start the car or you start it immediately. Both options are there.

When you remote start the vehicle from your key fob, does it turn the heated seats, defroster, etc... on if it is below a certain temperature?

Yes, and you can set that temp threshold.

Actually, remote start does not seem to turn on the seat heaters or the steering wheel heater. And strangely my windows were fogged up after a few minutes last night with it remote started, like it didn't turn on the AC to dehumidify the air or something.
