I love how it says up to 1200 miles meaning you could sufficiently break-in the engine before then. I usually don't hammer the car until after 1k miles. In my current X3 M40i I didn't follow it to the T and had no real issues after sending in oil samples to he lab.
I also bed my brakes with 3-4 60mph-5mph hard stops, then drive around to let them cool down
