Parking Assistant Professional in a narrow garage
I have a double garage, it’s a little small and my wife drives a VW Atlas so we try and squeeze that and my X5 in.
I want to use “record route” to park my car as there is a small pillar (where the air vent is) that means I have to turn slightly getting in. I can manage it fairly well but when trying to record the route, the parking assistant tells me it’s too narrow. How wide does the space have to be for it to work? |

Is the “record route” feature in the LCI models? I have the 2020 with the DAP package but have never noticed it.
On a related note, I do use the backing assistant package every morning as I leave from my very narrow garage. |

I have a 23 X7 and tried it multiple times last year when it first came out. I also have a small garage too and the moment it goes in, it stops recording altogether.

In my case the car stops recording as soon as it stops receiving GPS signal and this happens after the car is a few feet in the garage. I save recording just before that so that the car can get my wife into the garage. She drives manually the last few feet straight in. The only thing that I don’t like about this procedure is that because the car thinks it has parked the vehicle, it put it into park and engages parking brakes.
