Time for the launch control

Passed the 1000 miles

What’s the best road place, or how to pick a road for launch control?

Any preparation?

Garage List
Read the instructions. I went to a little-used area of the main road in my rural area. With a straightaway ahead and no chance of police. It was fun and really impressed my passenger, a friend who is dying of cancer. After a few seconds you have plenty of control but I’d avoid using launch control in a parking lot.

I think BMW recommends 1,200 miles before stressing the engine.

Here's the prep:
Make sure your engine is already warmed up - been driving for 10 or so minutes - make sure no cops are around - have fun!

Forgive me... silly question:

Do you need to bring the car to BMW for "service" before activating the launch control?

Meaning, does BMW have to "unlock" anything before the car will allow you to do it?

Not that I'm aware of.

no need for that, thats only for true M models I believe
I used my launch control at 300 miles with no issues
just make sure there is nothing loose that'll fly around in the car

Unless your dash reminds you of service with a orange color car icon. I don't think M50i needs a break in service. I'm pretty sure X5M does have a break in service.
