Some of these wheels bring back my old memories..
Love the late 90s and early 2000s BMW wheels.

Garage List
2011.5 BMW M3  [10.00]
2004 BMW M3  [10.00]
Between BMW and AMG, both have had some very timeless and eye-catching designs over the years.
I must say though, overall, BMW's back-catalogue is full of beautiful, purposeful wheels, which would make it the winner here.
Countless BMWs through the years (incl. non-Ms) have come equipped with beautiful wheels from the factory, which look great across various platforms and model years.
Simply put, there are too many to list, so here is a non-exhaustive list of just some of my favorites from both BMW & AMG (in no particular order) :

Style 127/163
Applications: E46 M3 CSL / E46 M3 ZCP

Comments: Timeless and purposeful. The original that most certainly inspired the later Style 359 and ushered the aftermarket into a new era of knockoff "CSL" wheels. One piece mesh design with concave and a great modern-interpretation of the classic mesh design that has been, for so long, associated with BMW wheels.

Style 359
Applications: E90 M3 ZCP, E92 M3 ZCP / E82 1-Series M Coupé / E92 M3 GTS / E90 M3 CRT

Comments: At first glance, hints at the M3 CSL wheels, but upon closer inspection has straighter edges on the spokes. Also a one-piece design with concave.
Factory finished in either silver or satin black and properly accentuates the wide stance of any M-car they are fitted on thanks to the concave design.
Looks at home on almost any modern BMW regardless of application or color.
A great evolutionary design take of the Style 127/163 wheel; will go down as one of the all-time great OEM wheels.

Style 37
Applications: Various E31, E34, E38, E39 models

Comments: Widely known as "M Parallel Spoke wheels", these 18 inch wheels were widely applied in the 1990s through the early 2002s on various 5ers, 7ers and even on the 8er. Looks properly aggressive with the staggered widths accentuated by the "deep-dish" design. Another home run that looks great on almost any BMW of the era.

Style 65
Applications: E39 M5

Comments: The perfect shoes for the masterpiece of a design that is the E39 M5. Slight concave face with modest dish; simply an elegant, timeless, yet aggressive design. The shadow-chrome finish was the icing on the cake.

Style 5
Applications: Various E23, E24, E28, E30, E32, E34, E36 models

Comments: The original classic BMW mesh wheel, constructed by BBS (RC090) with two-piece design. Clean yet sophisticated.
These wheels look universally beautiful on an entire generation of BMWs and helps to give these older BMWs a timeless look that transcends trends and time itself.

AMG Monoblock
Applications shown: R129 SL60/SL73 AMG / W210 E55 AMG

Comments: Classic, simple design. Looks sophisticated, luxurious, and expensive. One can imagine that many of the wheels used in the Japanese "VIP style" scene are inspired by this design.

AMG V 16-spoke
Application shown: W204 C63 AMG

Comments: I'm not sure what it is about this wheel that captivates the onlooker. Maybe it's the fact that they were a "euro" market wheel but the simple, straight design is something to behold. An elegant wheel to look at that manages to complement the lines of the W204 AMG very nicely.

Both brands have offered great looking wheels on more premium higher spec'd models and ugly wheels on the lower models. I tend to like bmw's overall styling better than MB which is why I bought one lol

Compared to this.. I think it would actually look good with black steels if I could find them but the tyre does protect the rims a bit..

he never said zcp wheels. when he said e92 m3 wheels i automatically assumed the 19' version because that's the majority of the wheels out there unless zcp.

the 18' version was much better than the 19'. you don't really see them around a lot do you?

The 18s? Well I've seen them many times actually. The design is nice, but I don't like the darker finish of them.

What are those tiny things behind the wheel? Is that a saucer?
Yeah, the standard rotors on the 328i are so small. Embarrassingly small if you ask me. Good think the rims hide them for the most part.

I personally like the E36 M3 wheels as well.

I say BMW came up with the best looking wheel designs in the late 90's and early 2000. Many classic cars to remember and enjoy.

It was the Era where the Jap turbo cars dominated: Supra, RX7, 300ZX, NSX. Then we got this 240hp North American Spec E36 M3 and later on the more powerful M5.

Good old memories, and cars used to be simpler, rather more enjoyable. Cars are faster now for sure, but I think they have less meanings attached to them compare to the past. Everyone is focused on making more horsepower, adding more tech stuff and more luxury interior and to me, the cars and brands are somewhat moving away from their heritage.
