The key test for these 2 pieces of software, all other things being equal, is how many FDL's are mapped in esys. Launcher Pro has most, but is missing the most recent features post 2018. I don't know which version of psdzdata esysx is mapped against, or their ongoing business model. They charge for additional updates past a certain point so its possible they are mapping on a regular basis.

Maybe someone who owns the product can chime in?

I have had esys launcher years ago, tried to get the new version late last year early this year, never go a response from token master gave up and just waited and did bimmercode, but might try esysx at least they are responsive, would like to be able to code the combi which bimmercode can't do yet (but hopefully maybe will add soon) but everything is months ahead of the app using esys typically.

Just heard back from the Bimmercode developer. He said the software in my G05 is too new and isn't supported in the app. He said an app update soon will fix it.

I'm not in the US, but having used BimmerCode, I can watch videos from the USB drive connected to the compartment under the front centre armrest.

I have not tested the front USB port, near the gear selection lever, and I havent tried using it via my Android phone

That would certainly be convenient and there is no *technical* reason that Bimmercode couldn't add this. But, considering the specific limited customer/user base for this specific "hack" (just 2019 model year owners that are keen enough to know and to care), I would not expect this to be any kind of a real priority for Stephan (maker of Bimmercode). E-Sys by yourself, E-Sys by a friend, or E-Sys by a "paid friend" are likely going to be our only viable coding choices. Or perhaps BMW will come to their senses at some point and make it functional for early-adopter 2019 customers as well.

Also not in US (Canada), but VIM works fine with the stated procedure while in motion including the front USB A port.

after updating iDrive software to 7/2019.53 i've lost option to code everything in BimmerCode except auto start/stop and seatbelt reminder. Any one know when they will update the app and bring back coding options?

I’m still waiting to get mine back with the lastest idrive update but honestly those 2 options are worth getting bimmercode. I will test whenever the slow dealership decides to work on the car.

Mine still works, same as before the update to 7/2019,53. I did notice that the connection was less reliable, meaning i had to try to connect to the bluetooth odbii plug several times.

Prior to my upgrade today, I had picked up a couple of additional ECUs for a total of five (going from memory). Now I'm back down to three again. I can at least enable auto start/stop memory at least...

Just picked up the X5 after updating it to 07/2019.47 and it wiped out all previous coding and really the only available option to code was the Auto Start Stop. A bit of a disappointment as I traded off getting the Experience Modes and Caring Car and losing all the coding. Hopefully the developer catches up and can get back some of these options.

It's always good to quote the full ISTEP version. One suspects you are referring to 07/2019.55 in your case. If so, correct, BimmerCode is behind BMW major releases and most of the functions available for 03/2019.xx are not yet available for 07/2019.xx. Rumour is, update should be coming soon. Or you can setup manual ESys FDL coding (if you are sufficiently committed :-).

In case someone (like me :-) gets impatient with BimmerCode, it is valuable to remind oneself that Stephan has a massive verification job. Consider all the versions, models, options, and geography permutations that must be evaluated ...

Weird... I'm ISTEP version 07/2019.55. I have OBDlink MX+. Was able to code off seatbelt reminder and ASS... both.

Oh, sorry, didn't read carefully, yes, all reports are that current BimmerCode does still support ASS memory (not off or on, rather memory of last setting, which is almost as good) on 07/2019.xx

Hmmm that's what I thought...wonder why I can't see the Engine ECU? I did forget to mention that bimmercode app sees the Air Conditioning Climate Ecu or whatever it's called. I'm using iOS 13.1.2 Bimmercode is also up to date.
