Thanks for the update. What is your car's production date?
I think for Caring Car to work, you have to have the A/C on and/or the car engine on as well.

12/19

I did have the car on and iDrive did turn on vitality mode when I used voice recognition, so something is going on in there. But, the icon doesn't work. I'm also wondering if it's an app that needs time to update, as many seem to do, after a full software update. We'll see.

19th month of 2012? Or 12th month of 2019? Both would require either time travel or adjustment of Julian/Gregorian calendars.
I am guessing you meant Dec 2018 production, correct?

The center of the instrument cluster (with map view off and route view on) shows the the grid and road as the active driver assist video shows, but I didn't see my car, highlighted lanes, etc. It might be because of the mode I was in when trying active driving. Will have to test later. But, the instrument cluster display is definitely different.

Ha, yes, sorry. Typo. Dec 2018. Though I'd prefer time travel.

This didn't work. The only current option to display assisted driving view on 2019 cars is 07/2019 and coding.

When the 07/2019 firmware is flashed on the car, the DKOMBI ECU is re-coded. This recode does not include the necessary coding to enable assisted driving view. I'm not sure why tbh as its part of the 2020 MY. Maybe it's an oversight, maybe BMW have determined it needs more testing?

Whatever the reason, it needs to be manually coded using esys.

Do you know which 07/2019 is required? 07/2019.47 or 07/2019.39. I had my X5 updated to .39 two weeks ago.

07/2019.39 should be fine.

Just to be clear, it's not working on my car. There was a change in the instrument cluster display after the latest update that suggested it might be, but it looks like a bug to me. The Route Overview uses what looks like the same "road/grid" background and it's now displayed permanently even when there is no navigation destination selected. When there is, the direction cards are now a bit odd, and not always uniformly spaced, as they were previously. I've tried restarting iDrive. I think it's a bug.

The good news, I suppose, is that the Experience and Caring Car apps showed up in full overnight. Amazing to me that an update then requires over the air downloads to work. I guess if anyone ever complains that BMW does do OVA software updates, they can point to their apps (and maps).

Do you have the driving assistant plus package?

You were right. I took my 2019 X5 (recently upgraded to 07/2019.39) to Ben at RG Sport in Irwindale and he coded Assisted Driving View for me along with a bunch of other stuff. I've been playing with it all day and I like this change. I do wish that there was a way to show the graphic on the main screen. My passengers would find it interesting to watch.

Nice one - glad you like it.

What other coding did you get - anything new?

Here's the list of changes made. I don't think any of this is new. I coded Auto-Start-Stop with the Bimmercode app previously, but I needed Ben's experience with e-Sys to code the rest of it. Very glad I stopped by yesterday.

Enable Anti dazzle high beams
One touch trunk open and close via remote and door button
Legal disclaimer disable
Volume pop up disable
Video in Motion enable
View text messages
Display date & time in call logs (not sure if i described this one accurately)
Window one touch close with door open
Fog light on with high beams
Assisted driving view enabled

Would it be possible for someone to just post a picture of the General Settings tab that shows Remote Software Update.

I am trying to explain to my dealer (non US) that such option is not visible on my car but I need some proof. Thx in advance

I'm pretty sure I read that OTAs will not be available (once they are made available in general) in some countries, it could be yours is one of them.

I am guessing so that is why want to put as much pressure on dealer as possible to chase it! Thx
