On my 3rd BMW since 2013 and technology just gets better and better. However, some times the execution of these things don't quite live up to it. Just some fun with the ConnectedBMW app using the 3D view.

The car that parks next to me is an Acura TL lol.

Why doesn't it show your car in the color it really is? As "smart" as the tech is in these cars, surely it knows what color you bought.

They have to implement this distortion, otherwise you wouldn't be able to see very much in 3d view since the image of your own car would be blocking half of the view all of the time.

Take the first picture on this thread, if your X5 was scaled proportionally, you wouldn't be able to see along the outside of the passenger side.

I use this remote feature a lot on vacation. I would check 4 times a day via the app. Here is a typical remote pic. That is Disney’s Grand Floridian in the background. When I take a remote pic, my mirrors would fold out, take pic, then fold back in.

No surrondings whatsoever. Is this not available in Europe?

Make sure your app is up-to-date as is your version of iOS [assuming you have an iPhone]. There was a bug/issue between iOS 14 and the app, but it has work for me for a few months now.

I thought I read in another post that 3D view was disabled in some countries do to (private?) laws.

How about color and model. I didn't get an X-line on 19" wheels. If you can login to your garage and have the car detailed down to the brake caliper color why can't the app do the same.

In the lower left is the ear on the head of the technician who happened to be working on the car at that moment. And no, I did not know he was there when I submitted the capture request.
