Order delays due to Coronavirus ?

My X45E was scheduled for production this week and indeed was made. I just got the status change; Now I have to wait for dispatch to Europe.

How do you get all those status updates? I have to call my dealer and they can't see it or don't know anything.

I’m using the BMW Connected App; The dealer has given me a code to enter in the App, and you can then have some tracking; Less precise that what our US friends have... Works only on IPhone as well ...

On the BMW UK website the online genius can pop up! It depends if they have one on duty. More lately I've noticed no online genius is available. I have say normally they're very helpful and have access to factory order updates as long as you have the order number/chassis num

Does it get entered as a VIN?

No the code was given to me by the dealer short after placing the order. The VIN you have later when the car is actually produced. I don’t precisely remember but I think that the first time I open the app it did ask me for a code and that was the one given by the dealer that worked. They call it my car is born’.

I thought this was only for France. There is no European uniformity in tracking an order.

If you go to bmw.co.uk and build your vehicle page the chat option pops up. Only works on a computer, they have blocked it on mobile devices. Give them your VIN and ask for a status update

It says 3 series but it's generic. The advisor just searches the system.

I placed an order for X5 45e on the 14th of February, and according to the dealer here in Latvia, the car was made and was shipped out last week. I just hope it's true

Great! I placed an order begin of July and maybe production will happen in April.

Sounds to good to be true. But let's hope it is off course. Maybe he had a cancellation or a free production slot? It will take some time to ship from the USA tot Latvia. Let us know how it works out !

I hope you somehow get moved up and don't have to wait until September, but unfortunately, there's nothing fair in love, war and BMW dealer allocations!!
