But with the dummy lights, does it still have this function? Appreciate any replies to shed some light on this mystery for me!
Yes, standard 552 adaptive full LED headlights have dummy inner units but share same adaptive functionality as the 5AZ Icon Adaptive LED Headlights with Laserlight. For USA, 552 do not include assistive cornering LED lights and is only included with 5AZ.

552 BMW Adaptive LED headlights rely solely on diodes for both beam phases (short and high) to illuminate the road and can actively adjust themselves depending on steering, incoming traffic (BMW Selective Beam), and vehicle speed. Auto-leveling is also included - noticeable on start-up.

Note in the USA selective beam is just auto high beam off/on - this isn't the "matrix" tunneling feature that's enable overseas. It can be coded but coding is lost with each iDrive updates.

Thanks!
If your vehicle status code is 150, it's locked in for production and no further changes can be made to your order.

The way they cheaped out on the X5 is just crazy (no reclining rear seats, dummy headlights, other stuff I can't remember off the top of my head).

Now I feel better that I shelled out for the Exec package (wife wanted it for the other stuff).

Can someone help me understand. I have a 2021 45e on order for US delivery. My understanding was that the no dazzle tunneling feature was only available in Europe. What does this mean?

No intention to highjack thread but there's been some talk about dazzle so figured I'd ask.

It just means that the no dazzle tunneling is coded off for USA models. In the US, the high beam assist will turn off/on to not blind an oncoming motorist.

I guess I'm stuck on words. If I'm BMW and listing feature of a car, I would write "high beam assist" or some such, not that coding for an additional feature was removed. Why list that as a feature? Seems strange. Maybe I'm thinking too much about this.

Yes you are. The Anti-Dazzle is a standard feature but since it is not allowed in the US (and other countries) it needs to be turned off so that is listed as a feature.
