BMW performance center delivery

Question, if I pick up my X5 at the BMW performance center, do I still have to pay the $1175 delivery fees?

No, not at all. It is a destination and handling charge that is apportioned to each vehicle no matter where it is delivered to. In reality it is a way to increase revenue without increasing MSRP.

Yea, you'd think if they just have to drive it across the street they could cut us a deal on not shipping it across the country, but no such luck.

This method of applying the destination and handling charges seems to be universally applied by most vehicle manufacturers. This is how we see the build and price summaries comparable to a more distant final destination regardless of the origin location of final assembly.
