Met with a gentleman selling of what was described a nice set of 747M wheels. Texts and DMs assured the wheels were in excellent condition without any imperfections. Long story short, took 3hr drive one way to meet and the wheels were nothing like described. They were all refinished, nicked, curb rashed, missing valve caps, ///M sticker appeared to be altered, and just in poor shape. The price was too good to be true. The story did not line up at all.

I posted this warning on the original thread and they took it down. Since another member reached out wanting to buy these thanking me for info, I decided to warn other potential buyers considering these since according to the seller had gained a ton of interest in just a few days.

Please use caution. Pics below of the wheels in question.

2. When did I scam you?

I’m not here to argue with you, I’m here to warn others since you deleted the original for sale post after I posted my observation after seeing the wheels in person. The wheels are nothing what you described. I’m warning people to beware especially if these are getting shipped. If you updated the thread instead of deleting it, I would not have posted anything. Again not here to argue, simply warning others.

Seller is also selling X5/6M 818M wheels at a hefty price. Doubt they’ll move given the ask, but maybe seller should post new pictures on both threads with current date and username?

Not Salty at all but I am unhappy that I was lied to which made me waste my time and gas. I asked several times if wheels had any imperfections and no road rash. Just simply making sure the interested buyers saw my in person observations since the post was taken down.

It's the 20th century why not video call or send a video.
If I drove 3hours I would be hott as well.
But it does sound like the guy wanted the wheels for a lower price and the seller wasn't moving.
But To call him a scammer is crazy to me.

Yea I should have video called and been more thorough, I agree. I jumped on thinking I finally found a set for a good price. But in defence, I did ask several times for seller to let me know of any issues.

Maybe I was a bit harsh on the title but I did use the word Potential. I should change the title.

We did agree for a meet up time and location to pick up the wheels. I drove down to meet up but I didn’t go thru with the deal because they were not as described. In person they were different. Had the imperfections been disclosed when I asked, I would reconsider making the trip. The imperfections are obvious.

I’m gonna have to side with OP on this one. It’s a simple question: do the wheels have imperfections yes or no. If seller lied about it then I’d be pissed too. Imagine if the wheels were shipped instead of meeting up in person.

I appreciate the warning. I've considered many wheels on here, never pulled the trigger however, this reminds me I should request additional evidence before committing to any personal sale.

I would have taken the op word for it- but he tried that same bait and switch on me as well on the same style wheels just last week. I'm so glad I just ignored him- he gave me a con man/sketchy feel. The contacting me from multiple different numbers and trying to low ball me, and telling me what they go for- he seemed scamm-ish to me, which is why I didnt just ignored him. Alot of what op wrote I can tell is b.s- the fact that the price was too good to be true (his words) and you drove 3 hours couldn't make a deal. Now you come on here looking to epose?? But you dont want to argue lol. X5mfan I think you should be more clear with pics/videos as well you get no pass from me neither. Just sound like a deal could of been made here, but the seller didn't want to get low balled. Because that's how I felt texting VK. X5mfan can you please upload a photo or video so we can see what the fuss is all about.

X5_50i you sound very defensive and I am almost wondering if you are the same person. It could make sense because you clearly made some things up above but I did let you know that I am not interested after you sent me pictures of the curb rash which I appreciated. No harm there, you were honest.

But I can't help myself and notice that:

a. Your pictures looks awfully identical to X5MFAN_88. I noticed that the background wall looks the same and the floor color looks the same to me. Are you the same person or same business? Why are the pictures from two different members very similar? Could it be the same wheels that were refinished? The price is also the same.

b. According to forum history, you and X5MFAN_88 sell a lot of wheels. Coincidence? X5MFAN_88 told me he got these from his father in law with about 4k miles. Based on my in person inspection, these did not look like wheels with 4k miles. Your and X5MFAN_88 sale history make me think you guys are in the wheel sale business. Location is about the same as well. Where are you guys getting these wheels? Are these stolen? Maybe the wheel pictures should be posted installed on a BMW.

Look at the thread title "wheels n tires". The style used here is the same. Also, the way both of you marked sold appear to be identical. Again, are you the same person? Sure looks like to me.





c. Your for sale thread titles are very similar to X5MFAN_88. You sound like X5MFAN_88 based on your thread for sale posts. Looks awfully suspicious here.





d. X5MFAN_88 was accused with having the same pictures by someone else and their defense was that the other person was a scammer. Very suspicious to me.

I will let the forum be the judge but it doesn't take much to connect the dots here. Where are you guys getting the wheels? You sure have a ton of cars or cash to be swapping these out constantly. The gentleman I met was in a very beat up black dodge caravan that did not really give me a vibe that they owned any sort of BMW. I could be wrong here so don't quote me.

At the end of the day, my original intention was to warn people. I did get upset that I was misled so I posted a reply in the original for sale thread my observations. I did not call anyone out, just simply asked politely for OP to update post to reflect the proper condition. OP deleted the thread. I then got a DM from someone else that was next in line to pull the trigger. This made me create this thread.

Again, not here to argue with anyone. I want to bring my experience to other potential buyers.

X5_50i you just confirmed that you are the same person as X5MFAN_88 by posting a screenshot of my texts to you and X5MFAN_88. I don't need to explain anything to you...

...but to the rest of the forum members, I still stand behind my warning to those interested in this seller. Just be careful, this will probably be my last post here because I am simply not interested their wheels and I do not owe anything to that person. I did not say this person scammed me but they definitely misled and lied to me before I made the trip.

This is the same person because the above posts verified my text messages to both X5_50i and X5MFAN_88. Two different for sale threads with two different users yet somehow X5_50i posted both text messages. How did one member get text messages I sent to a different forum member? I do confirm that those 3 different numbers are mine but simply because I hide my personal number to someone I don't know.

...and since they brought up eBay (wasn't going to go there), they are tri-statewheels. That is the only eBay store that has the identical pictures of the storage facility floor and the green garage door. It doesn't take much effort to also look up both of your for sale ads forum both accounts and match them to tri-statewheels eBay listings.

I would like to point out that out of the three eBay stores they posted, the two that are not them have 100% feedback (gridparts and 9iiwheels) while tri-statewheels has 75% positive feedback with some negative feedback about not getting what they thought they were getting.

I am going to re-iterate, I was only looking for a little bit of honesty to save me a trip. This blew up more than I wanted.
