I drive 8.5 seat heating

Hi all,

Picked up the new rig last week and it’s amazing!

Q: How do I get the car to remember that I had the seat heaters on when re-starting or how do I set it to come on at a certain temp like the previous I drive in the ‘23 X5?

Here’s a pick of the new ride.

I belive that iDrive 8.5 uses an analgorithm when to turn on the heated seats and steering wheel, at least with the remote start feature. I belive that the user set temperature was removed that was available in iDrive 7. The X5 forums had some posts about this, as now we’re at the mercy of BMW when to activate.

Great looking car! Skyscraper Gray? Darvit would have a gold hue in the sun light.

Seat heating (or cooling) is always reset when the car is turned off. Honestly I don't ever recall any car being able to remember that setting which makes sense to me (unless you had an actual physical switch or wheel type of selector).

With the LCI (iDrive 8 and 8.5) the auto seat warmer no longer have temperature rules but instead are controlled by the climate logic and whatever BMW thinks its time to turn on/off. You can set how agressive that is by setting the level of seat heating (cooling). I initially missed the old temperature rule, but now after almost 1 year I can say that it works really well. Haven't had to adjust or change anything in months and only adjust the auto temperature maybe 1-2 times a week.

Hi all!

The color is dravit grey. You can see the flakes with a bit more sunlight.

So for the automatic seat heating. I need to set the temperature to the auto function then set the preferred temp?
