Executive Package (ZPX) Available - '24 X5 xDrive40i

Back in early May ‘23 the ordering guides and the BMWUSA website offered the Executive Package for the 2024 X5 xDrive40i. Does anyone know if it’s no longer available or if the website has a glitch.

  • Soft-close automatic doors
  • Panoramic Sky Lounge LED Roof
  • Rear manual side window shades
  • Glass Controls
  • Full LED Lights

No longer available for the 40i from what I was told. I placed my order earlier this week and it wasn’t available.

Due to supply chain shortages for the Soft Close Doors, they stopped offering on 40i models.

Any idea if they can retrofit soft-close door mechanisms using OEM parts?

No idea. I placed my order on 4/20 before they dropped the Executive and Climate Comfort Packages from 40i models, and mine went into Status 150 "Production Begins" on 6/15 with both packages still included on my build. Others on this forum have reported BMW removing one or both packages from their builds, so I'm lucky.

I also don't see the climate comfort package when configuring a 40i. I won't order without cooled seats (in FL), and I don't see a way to get them. Am I missing something?

For clarity, BMW doesn't offer cooled seats that are ventilated seats which suck air in and not blow air out. They use evaporation to keep you dry and cooler.

Have your dealer try and order them as they were available in the last pricing guide, not sure if there is an active production constraint or not. Let us know how it turns out.

Not seeing climate comfort package offered on 40i build spec unless adding the massaging seats. FYI

Thanks. I don't want massaging seats but won't buy a car without ventilated seats. Fewer and fewer options to choose from with this model (no climate comfort, executive package, others?). Hard to believe at this price point. Disappointing.

BMW also wishes you would be able to get those, hopefully by the end of the year the supply chains will start to normalize.

Weird times for sure. Let this be my biggest problem, I guess.

^ yep, that’s how I look at it. It stinks to not be able to get what you want on a build, but it happens. That doesn’t mean I’m gonna move forward with an incomplete build, but I completely understand there are still industry-wide shortages. There are definitely worse problems to have, if this can even be classified as a problem.

The only gripe I have is the lack of transparency and communication regarding missing options.

I understand it is industry wide issues but the lack of communication is the issue. Ordering a car in March and told 6 weeks and then all of sudden told no now its 16 weeks and you cant get items, may have affected alot of decisions about placing an order in the first place.

This morning I see that Dravit and other colors are now available on a spec with M Sport. Previously they were not.

Yep, we wasted 2 months. Literally. From ordering in April to deciding to explore other options just last week due to delays/deletions. A lot of time could’ve been saved if information was relayed efficiently. Hell, these forums provided way more info than any BMW employee ever did lol.

Not the end of the world but still mildly annoying.

Annoying. I would have picked Tanzanite Blue II in a heartbeat if it was available when I ordered.
