But you could also add these options a la carte.

The VIN decoder is the only way to see the way the car was originally optioned, IMHO.
M-sport cars lost the heated steering wheel.

Wow, I stirred you all up. FWIW, the rear folding seats can be had as a stand alone option. I found it on a car on local dealer lot but didn't have Nav so I passed. I'm glad I held out for the cold weather package as when I gave aching back, the heat feels good. For the record, I have m-sport and have the head light washers.

Yeah, that's accurate and I like the "old-geezer" option of heated fronts seats for the same reason.

BTW, I have found that the original MY2011 Ordering Guide is good for settling the "what options?" debates and the VIN decoder to scrutinize a particular vehicle.

FWIW, my 2011 came with separate options for fold down rear seats (465) and heated front seats (494) and NO SatNav (my choice).

I have heated seats, no fold down, and no satnav on my M-sport. In my opinion, from looking 8-12 year old Bmw nav systems. I kinda figured a diesel would be a car you could keep a lot longer than gas. So I wanted to not have a silly nav system stuck in my car if I were to keep it longer like people with e39 and e46 have now. It would be nice for the near future tho. But long term I thought it was a bad idea. (I would be using my iPhone for nav regardless)

Mdrury,
I grew up in a small town called Prunedale about 30 miles from Santa Cruz. My family still lives there. I have an opportunity to buy a full stop tech front st-60 and st-40 at cost from a friend who works at a stop tech dealer. Can you give me your opinion on whether it is worth it not? It seems it is mostly a cosmetic upgrade for most people from my google searches. But I am ok with that too.
Whats your opinion on it overall?

I have the Stitch BBK on my car and have been running them for almost 16 months. They are awesome!! I have had to use them a multiple times on my daily hwy commute and def. feel like they have saved me from having to be scraped off of the road. Huge difference over the stock brakes, they look good too. I went with the yellow calipers.

Bear in mind that I don't run stock rims (Apex EC-7 18x9 et31 at the front) and so the ST-60 caliper ( 355mm rotor ) has plenty of clearance without the need for spacers/longer studs . After speaking to the Stoptech folks (in CA) I concluded that fitting the rear ST-40 as well is mostly to fulfill a cosmetic desire, so I didn't. A rattle can of caliper paint would be a lot cheaper.
Performance-wise, I don't claim to be a brake specialist, just a cost conscious engineer. So, the way I look at it, I've got an upgraded braking system that matches the increased amount of tire with larger pad area, higher clamping force, better pedal feel and enhanced heat dissipation. What's not to like?
