X5 xLine vs MSport Off Road specs
I am wondering about the differences between the xLine and the MSport from a functional perspective.
Is there any major changes in ground clearance, approach/departure/breakover angles? I take my vehicles down a fair amount of moderate trails, Unmaintained forest service roads, etc. I feel like the xLine would be better, but I also like the look of the MSport quite a bit more. Any ideas? Local dealership doesn’t have one of each, so I can’t compare the 2021/2022 myself… |

I was looking at exactly the same, since I plan on taking mine for some light off roading. Don't know about departure angles, but I think both lines come with 8.7" ground clearance on the 40i xdrive. The M50i and 45e by contrast, each have 8.3" of ground clearance. Last edited by bruin1md; 11-26-2021 at 06:32 PM.. |

M Sport is all aesthetics; no upgrades from a performance perspective compared to xLine. 'M Performance' products (sold separately) are performance upgrades.

That is true for the 45e but for the 40i the M Sport Package includes the Adaptive M suspension.

Based on this, is BMW saying that an xdrive 40i w/o the air suspension is only 8.3" of ground clearance, which is identical to the m50i, also sans air suspension? And that both would be 8.7" only with the air suspension set up? Because right now on the builds I don't think air suspension is even a possibility, unless you opt for 3rd row seating, which I don't need. |
