Offer code is valid until 1/5/20...so you'll have to wait until next week if it is renewed

Penfed offer has been renewed until 1/4/21
Just remember to press your dealer to apply the code as Type J (Domestic Military), this is not a Fleet discount (Type G).

If I'm a co-signer, am I still considered the "purchaser" and eligible for this incentive?

I may just need to call them to ask.

Sweet, thanks for the update. Hopefully I'll be eligible for this by the time I need to seal the deal, which I presume to be maybe a few days or a week before picking up the car at the plant (I'm doing PCD).

Just submitted my form to my SA. He claims there shouldn't be any problem when it comes time to do the paperwork. I reiterated how it should be entered as a military discount. Thanks Kief for the advice! We'll see how it all plays out.

No, I'll be doing PCD. Still waiting on my new production number so I can get the new PCD date. Dealership screwed up my original order and didn't select the right trim, so I had to start the process all over again

Any idea when we sign the paperwork (I'm PCD also), I still haven't been a Penfed member for 30 days so I can't get the code until then

Typically go to your dealer a week or so before your PCD date to finalize the sale.

Don't need to be affiliate with the military. Check out their website on how to join. Anyone can join.

Can't emphasize this enough.

The store I bought from last minute before the end of the year wouldn't even agree to show me the December months programs .

They insisted it was type g. The manager wouldn't even talk to me. All through the sales guy even though I was standing in the showroom.

I explained and showed them everything I had including the matrix that kief posted. I insisted on type j. I said this is a military credit union. Apply the rebate .

They said no. I asked if it was truly type g, then why was there no mention of an HR form.

This was the paper they kept insisting proves they were correct. See the date - January 2019.

I know for a fact that there was an updated bulletin. Also the December playbook should have called out PenFed specifically for type j offers.

Luckily I just got the bmw survey.

I still bought the car because the rest of the deal made sense for my situation.

Sorry to hear that and that's my fear as well... sometimes just can't stand the existance of dealerships (that's a separate topic though).

The sad thing is for most brands, it doesn't matter if you complain to corporate, they won't action on anything, even if it's something like discrimination based on gender or race.

The car buying process is the worst. Thank god for this forum. The ppl who frequent these boards are probably in the upper 10% in terms of educated buyers. I can only imagine the process for those who are more lackadaisical. Imagine shoppers for other manufactures where the forums are not nearly as active as this one - how do they gain knowledge on achievable discounts, etc... Part of me wishes the industry would just adopt Tesla's buying model. You walk in, pick out your car, pay for it and go home. No haggling, no back door sales tactics, no waiting in the lobby for 4 hours while the SA "talks to their manager"...

That's because of state franchise laws based on my very elementary level understanding of the policies in place (again separate topic). At least BMW dealerships are better than some... Hyundai is ridiculously bad despite their cars getting better and better. Their Genesis brand will really need to overcome this to be a true player in the luxury market.

Unfortunately for them it is going to be a very long process before that happens, if ever. Genesis tried to open a limited number of hand selected dealers but due to some lawsuits they had to offer franchises to every Hyundai dealer. Current Genesis has more dealers than any other luxury brand and the majority of them are poor to very poor performers. Hopefully through attrition this changes for them.

Agreed, they need to separate themselves from Hyundai which is difficult. If you do a quick google search about Hyundai/Kia dealerships you see that is the brands' number one weakness. Their cars have been improving and improving, just look at their infotainment, it's ahead of Toyota for sure.

For them to really elevate the Genesis brand, they have to up their game in all areas, not just building good cars. I would consider them one day if they truly had a BMW-level car that fits my needs. Otherwise if I wanted non-German I would go to Lexus all day long.

I don't remember anyone getting the code after 30 days or that the 30 days was published anywhere it was just something that Kief mentioned.

Edit: Looking back at the posts Kief mentioned that teefive said the waiting period was 30 days. Looking at teefive's post from November it says 60 days. So perhaps it was just a typo or an edit.
