Thanks - do you know if this works on previously ordered vehicles. My ordered X5 45e should arrive at the Richmond CA VPC tomorrow. The fine print seems to say no. But anyone get this or previous events like this to work on an vehicle that is not "in-stock".

It's all dealer discretion.

I never had a problem using the OL code on the previously ordered car.

my dealer said he would give me the OL code credit for my ordered vehicle.

in the end, what is an 'in-stock' vehicle'...when you order it you can just waive delivery and bang it is in stock now... so I guess BMW would just be wasting time not honoring these incentives.

Thanks. My understanding from the dealer is that the BMW OL codes is the dealer contributes $500 of the $1K to this incentive. So it may depend on dealer discretion which may be influenced by the deal you already cut.

My dealer says no.

"As for the Drive to End Hunger event, it will have to be a vehicle in stock for the rebate to be applied on. This is an ordered car so it will not be possible to apply for the event."

But I'm already getting about $10K off MSRP (MSRP Discount + $2500 from BMW + $500 for PenFed) and 0.9% Financing and possibly another $1500 on top of that from the State of California for the new Clean Air Rewards program. Not to mention the $7500 Fed Tax Credit.

The trick around this (if the dealer wants to work with you) is to mark the car as P2 - dealer center use. And then you can apply the coupon. of Course, this has to be done when the order goes in. This lets you get the car order in until you receive the OL code

Then you are taking a "stock" car.

This type of incentive is designed to help move cars on the lot, but you can get creative.

I got two within a minute yesterday for both of my new cars. Registered with two different names (for registration of cars) and different email.

Try with Edge in the InPrivate window.

Good to know for the future. I ordered about 5 or 6 weeks ago.
Another dealer mentioned there is a dealer contribution of $500 towards the $1K for these types of OL codes. Though before you order you have more leverage i.e. tell the dealer honor the OL code or I will order from another dealer...

Yes. Only 500 come from bmw na.

So let's say you already squeezed the store for 10% off minus incentives and then try to sneak in the coupon right at the end , they will probably not come down another 1000.

But if you walking in all dumb they may say . ...Look we will discount 2k off the car and because we want to do business we will get you that 1000 off from the coupon. (The store has plenty of room to do the extra 500) from their end.

Yup completely agree. They originally wanted to markup the interest rate to 1.9%. I said no dice I'd want $10K off MSRP AND 0.9% 60 month financing. Basically if you already negotiated down the margins for the deal there is less play for anything that has a dealer contribution component after the deal was agreed on.

I reached out to my SA about this. I placed my order last week which they gave me 10% off already. He basically said he would try to sneak it by BMWNA for the $500 off due to the fine print saying only applies to in stock units. He also said that on the dealership end they won't honor the other $500 off because they already gave me a discount.

Let us know if you are successful. Including all the other incentives and the Federal $7500 Tax Credit - I'm looking at ~$20K off MSRP and at 0.9 financing already. I might ask to see if they can squeeze another $500 from BMWNA since not coming from the dealer.
