That's the problem with sport cars. When you are young and athletic you can't afford them and when you can you are too old and fat to get in.

Geez - this perpetual topic is more powerful than the Eveready battery. I go away for a few days and you guys thought you could sneak a refresh of this topic past me and the argument still continues as well as to whether it was intentional or not

It's intentional. now, the "fashionable, comfort" pleats were intentional, the irregular, inconsistent sloppy application of those pleats was not. BMW has a history of seat pleating as well as smooth, tight leather seats, I've had them both. The pleating seems to come with their higher end models. I had them in my 8 Series and 5 Series but not in any of my 3 Series and I had a 535i that had the smooth leather covering. Seems to be up to the phase of the moon.

So, for the G05. ..

2019's had wrinkles - some did not

2020's had wrinkles - some did not

It's a bit too early to tell with the 2021's if wrinkles have been phased out. That said, from pix posted here, BMW has either come to grips with their suppliers inconsistent approach to "comfort" pleates or is trying to phase them out altogether. Time will tell.

I don't want to start any controversies, but I'm starting to suspect the carpeting might not even be cashmere ...

You'd expect on an ultra luxury premium superior preeminent SUV of this caliber we're not out of line hoping for Burmese lotus flower silk carpeting ... I mean, sure, vicuna carpeting is probably unreasonable, but at least cashmere!

Come on BMW!!

Personally, I prefer the new 2021 astroturf option, saves me from having to buy car mats.

I was happy when they added the availability of brown to the turf line. I can't wait to see what it looks like when mine comes in.

my 2021 built seats are fine in the back as far as I could see before my car was sent back to the factory for that battery issue...

My seats (Coffee Merino) are also fine - July build. Unfortunately I could only see them for 5 mins as the delivery of the car is stuck with the recall code 4 weeks now.
Thanks everyone on the forum for making the wait a bit easier and entertaining.

Unfortunately some here would consider your car totaled:

I did some meditation and mindfulness to accept those kind of issues... Not perfect but acceptable vs the time and frustration I would have to invest to get this changed. On top, I already have to invest my energy in finally getting the car delivered. It was ordered in 2019 delayed for covid, then delayed again for that battery issue. Trying to stay ZEN, don't ruin my efforts here

They look good. But not wrinkle free. But more than acceptable. Don't let this bother you and enjoy your new car once you get it back.

MY 2021 G06. Still being prepped at dealer. Some wrinkles/ripples/comfort grooves on right rear seat (considerably less on left seat), but acceptable, I think.
