Makes no sense to me to have to spend that much extra just to have the option to get good sound. Totally agree with you!

I don't get it either, perhaps they're restructure G05 packaging again next year after the market and supply channels rebound.
My gut feeling is that it's a Harman part supplier issue as the limited B&W units are being allocated to the M50/M's. The electronic wiring is the same for the G05/G06/F95/F96.

Harman International is the exclusive global representative for Bowers&Wilkins technologies to the automotive OEM sector on an exclusive basis.

We'll see...
Don't be surprised if your order is purged in the future. What status is your order? Unless your at 112, BMW NA can cancel your order.

BMW NA cancelled thousands of status 111 orders last month, as my 2020 M4 vert was cancelled at status 111. The bulletin stated that MY2020 orders would be changed over to MY2021, but the customer would responsible for the price increase.

May I ask the source of this information? It seems odd they'd stop selling B&W on other models as the pricing for B&W on a 40i is more expensive than on higher model levels.
Jay is a BMW client advisor so I'm thinking his source is first hand from BMWNA.
More likely JayPichardo source is the dealer DCSNet system. BMWNA post build sheets, and bulletins for sales, etc. there.

I see the pricing and ordering guide is now available for the 2021 X7. Any idea when it will be available for X5?

Would be good if we could have some additional colours like Glacier Blue Arctic Silver The standard colour selection is pretty poor for a luxury SUV especially lighter colours. Where I live having a a black dark blue or grey car it's just too hot and your AC struggles especially if you have a sunroof as well

Why are people shocked at the reduction for options and questioning the source? This is par for the course, BMW NA previously cancelled the European Delivery Program. Nothing should be a shock anymore. This is the new normal— get used to it.

Soon BMW NA will offer only one build type per model, take it or leave it. COVID pandemic = mass layoffs = business need to cut costs/get lean to survive.

I have a 2020 X5 M50i and I LOVE IT! It's loaded w/every single option available except rear seat entertainment (no little kids anymore) & no trailer hitch.

The tech is incredible. The ride feel and handling is amazing in all modes. The car is absurdly fast. Seats are amazing. Build quality inside and out 10 out of 10. There is nothing I can even nitpick to complain about except I didn't get it for free I suppose.

This is my 3rd X5 now. Also have an M2. Had an M5 and an M3 in the past. I love this X5 M50i as much as the other M cars and WAY more than the previous gen X5 and the gen before that. A whole new league all around.

If you are thinking of getting one of these I highly recommend.

The changes for 2021 look good but I didn't miss much since I have the M50i and it was fully optioned. Again it's such a great car. BMW really should be proud of this. I have not driven the full X5M and it was my plan to drive this for a year and give to wife or trade in for the X5M but honestly don't see the need for the X5M as good as the M50i is.

Bummer...I was looking forward to ordering a 2021 40i with B&W. I don't care for the sound from HK after hearing B&W.
Sounds like I should buy some stock in BavSound.

This has been a consistent complaint since launch. Miss glacier silver on my last F15 but more than over the moon with my Phytonic Blue G05.

Any chance the X5 I6 gets the upgraded B58 with 382hp?

I believe the 750i has the X5 m50i engine without being a part of the M performance line up.

No its not. Looks like they scrapped Night Vision across the entire lineup. No longer available in the 5 Series either.

Ja, I've always owned silver BMWs - titanium silver, glacier silver and my favorite sterling grey metallic. Ah the good ole BMW dozen of color days.

Scrapped Night Vision in the 5 series too!? I'll hold out hope these are being caused by supply chain issues given the current situation and maybe these options will make a comeback over the model year or in 2022. If not, I might have to keep my current lease.

I wonder about this too. With the 50i gone, seems like 188 hp is too big a gap between the 40i and the next step up M50i.

You mean to cars that don't have remote start?

It's a lot more involved than that.
