Recall of hybrids

My 45e was scheduled for delivery next Wednesday. I just got a call to cancel the delivery because of a recall. They don’t have an ETA for releasing it. Anyone has any info?

Is this the same battery related recall discussed earlier? When was your car manufactured?

It was manufactured around that time but not impacted. Validated that one last week

Just put my vin in the recall page and this came up. Anyone know what the code relates to?

Guess I best book it in for a service ASAP!

That sucks. One week before delivery after a 9 months wait.

I hope it is something minor.

Is it at your dealer and did you see it? Or still in Zeebrugge.

It’s at the dealer, vehicle registered and plates delivered. They can’t help it but i already sold my old vehicle so i asked them to come up with a solution.

Someone that picked up his 45e last week received a call not to charge anymore nor drive in sport modus.

Had the same thing happening last year after one of the first X5 45e burned down here in Belgium (which turned out to be a fluke).

Car was delivered beginning of November 2019, sat in garage for two weeks before I could pick it up. (then I decided to wait two weeks extra to get the december-january promotions on the financial renting, -35euro/month. )

My X5 45e is scheduled for pick-up for Wednesday here in Vienna, Austria. I'd be curious to know if there are any further unfortunate folks out there like the OP with some sort of delay notification. Will update here if I get contacted by the dealer.

If I remember correctly there were photos of an X5 fully ablaze in a parking lot, if that was this particular incident. So there was no connection to the HV-battery?

This was one of the first deliveries. About a year ago.

It was classified as vandalism I think? There was some info about this case.

Thanks for the info. speculation about a battery failure was wide spread, but the real reason obviously not so much. I remember this article as I was doing research prior to placing my order and it got me thinking about the car in my garage etc.

Fire started at the front wheel. Conclusion of BMW experts and insurance company was foul play. So someone torched it :

45e arrived in Zeebrugge September 19th, arrived at the dealer last Wednesday, and scheduled for delivery next Wednesday. But Friday I got the same phone call, they are not allowed by BMW to release the car. Dealer hopes to be able to give more information in the course of Monday, fingers crossed.

There was quite some speculation at the time, vandalism, 'external-cause', etc..

Final thing what I heard was that an after-market anti-theft / tracking system caused the fire. The tracking system was unprofessionally installed by a 3rd party and caused a short-circuit.

All above is speculation. My garage never knew anything about it. Got this story (strictly off the record) from a BMW guy at an BMW event. Never got any confirmation of this story.

Since I was worried about my car (also one of the first ones delivered) I tried contacting the owner but never got an answer back.

I did also the check and got: "There are no open safety related recalls or technical enhancements on this vehicle." Too bad STOP013222 returns no results on google.

Same result for me.

I saw that on the 330e forum there are also reports about cars being stopped before delivery. They mention having code STOP020700. Issue with the battery. https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=26581831
