Nice #'s bro but don't be naive about BMW's hp and torque factory claims. They are and always have been highly underrated from the factory. Some stock F15 50i's see over 400 at the wheels. No doubt the tune gave you a big increase but it's hard to tell just how much without a baseline. Too bad you didn't get a stock dyno run before the tune. You may have miscalculated your numbers... 545 hp at the wheels would equate to 641 hp at the crank with 15% drivetrain loss. But even the exact vehicle with same motor will have variations in power from the factory. That being said, not all will experience the same amount of drivetrain loss either. It's not an exact science. |

My dealer knows all my mods and have never had an issue. If you are concerned, just remove it before you head to the dealer for service.

I'm flashing protuning bm3 on my X5 this weekend. I've used it for 2 years on my m3 with multiple maps and boost by gear settings as well as overrun and burble options. This tune is very smooth, predictable and retains all the failsafe features. Nothing compared to a proper flash tune!

Check your local tuner. I had mine put in a Stage 2 tune from Mission (even though their website doesn't show the X5 as an option) and this thing is a beast! Everything else is stock. I asked about doing a down pipe but they said it wasn't needed.
I was going to go the JB4 route but after doing a ton of reading and research it looks like a flash tune is the only way to go for the best gains. Plus, I didn't have to poke a hole in my firewall from the engine bay to plug the darn thing in. Edit: Found the link to the tune on Mission's website for the X5 i40 (it was kind of hidden): https://missiontuning.com/bmw-engine...sh-tuning.html Last edited by CoolStory; 01-06-2020 at 07:21 PM.. |
