[poll] LCI owners, still bring the fob or digital key?
Recognizing a poll started by bandersen on https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2094300 first (and thanks so much for the poll!)
Seems like there are more discussion on LCI and pre-LCI difference on Digital Key + vs Digital Key experience, also wondering if people build "redundancy" on concern with DK+ reliability. |

When I get mine I will be carrying the fob and digital key (phone) daily. Didn’t see that as an option.

I only carry the fob or card if I am going to use valet, drop it off with someone for some reason (ex: mechanic or detailer), or if my wife or a friend may need to drive it without me after dropping me off somewhere.
All other times just have my phone/watch. |

As a believer in the concept of “One is none, two is one” I don’t believe in overloading one multi-functional battery powered device - that can run for a day or two max without needing a recharge - with critical functions.
So key fob, and since two key fobs can create problems with profiles, a key card as a backup. And yes, I swap the battery in my primary key fob every year when I renew my registration. The secondary key fob my wife carries on road trips gets a new battery every even year at registration renewal. |

Having the fob with me is as a factor of safety, don't want to end up getting stuck with car not operating with just the watch/phone |

Why would you think my post is directed at you? It's immediately below Photographer918s post about carrying two of everything.

If directed at me, no. I carry one very thin card case for licenses and emergency cash; one thin wallet with a half dozen cards - debit, credit, health insurance, Costco, and some big bills, and a money clip for small bills.
Also pocket knife, flashlight, pen and keys - and there’s a backpack with stuff I might need to walk home in the car. |
