Is there a way of knowing whether the engine is running or not from my bmw app?

I don’t see a way, but I am also interested.

The first week I brought my car home and was tinkering with it, I later found it running in the garage. I don’t know if I accidentally remote started it with the app, keys, or left it on in a park mode that kicked the engine on to save the battery. Either way, it was a fairly dangerous mistake that I haven’t reproduced. An alert that the car is started while not near would have been helpful in this case.

no lingering or time-elapsed notifications… just momentary at the time preconditioning (PHEV models) or Remote Start (ICE-only models) was activated whether by the app or fob, but the fan on the home page will be spinning if either are active** at the time of looking at the app

**30-minute duration for preconditioning; 15-minute duration for Remote Start
