Mudflaps?
I just did the first handwash of my x5m and after 1700 miles, there are signs of peppering on the paint on the lower front doors and rockers.
No doubt it's those sticky Michelins! I think some front mudflaps would help, or am I wasting my time trying to make/source some? |

I have fronts and rears and they keep the car much cleaner than without. Bought them on amazon. Had to put a few screws hold them but no problems after close to 5k miles on lots of different surfaces loaded with various kinds of grit and stone.

Bought them in February of 2021 so who knows if the vendor and product are still the same. I had them installed for me by the gentleman who installed my clear bra. Here's the link, but there are others available as well. Good luck, hope it works out for you.

Just to update in case anyone was wondering. I ordered the only set I could find from CAD motorsports. These are just 3d printed jobs, but the shape and profile is near perfect. I used VHB tape to tape them on. I have a black car, they blend right in and I know from experience that this should help immensely from getting my lower doors and rockers peppered with chips.

Can these 3D printed mud flaps from CAD be placed any lower? They appear to be effective for chips on the door but they don't appear to be low enough to stop chips kicked up on the lower rocker panel. Is that correct? I haven't been able to get a reply back from CAD. Thanks for the help.

Strange, when I ordered, they showed for F95 specifically, but looking at the ones you posted on the link - they look similar in shape and size. I don't think they are that specific to the car, as you can adjust them to fit.

I just ordered mud flaps from Amazon if I see that they can fit in a way I like I will mount them using 3m vhb tape and I’ll probably use an adhesion promoter which increases the effectiveness of the adhesive on the tape. I’ll post photos if I wind up doing it I’ll probably make cardboard mock-ups first before I do any cutting. I’ll probably soften them with heat gun so it will mold better to the mounting location

As others have suggested, PPF under the door crease works well.
I have also crafted and cut my own CF guards and they work great. I also think they look great. I haven’t hear a rock hit the car since installed. There is a pic of a 3D printed guard next to the one I made. The former a bit fragile as the printing process creates some weak point. CF sheet from Amazon.

I always assumed the X5M sills and rockers are shaped the same as the M Sport trimmed G05s

my neighbor has a CNC machine and he machined a set for me. ill try to get some pics. was going to post him on here and promote for you guys.
very happy with the set. making them on your own seems to be the way to go as there doesn't seem to be a big aftermarket for these.
