20” All Season Run Flat Reco?

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Gotta run all seasons on our X5, can’t do dedicated winter/summer.

Came with Conti LX Sport run flats which I think have been pretty average. Below average grip in the rain, decent in dry weather. Average in snow.

Any consensus “least bad” option as far as run flat all seasons go?

Here are the 20" choices on Tire Rack.

Check them out.

For me, I'm ditching the run flats as soon as my original tires are ready to replace. I did that with my 3 series and the difference in driving feel is night and day.

Yo thank you. Noticed the Scorpion Zero All Season Run Flat seems to be OEM in some markets for the x5. May take a shot on that.

Agree totally; this kind of tire is just so compromised. Ride quality I don’t mind, but grip in all seasons is sub par

In your OP, you mention snow. If you are going away from all seasons and you don't want dedicated summer and separate winter tires, that suggests you are thinking about running summer tires (for grip) all year around. If you drive in the snow or wherever it gets cold, that's really a terrible idea. Summer tires are worthless in cold weather.

By the way, I've got the OEM 20" Bridgestone all season run flats on mine. I think they are great. Grip has not been an issue at all. Of course, I'm not running it on the track either.

Oh I won’t be doing that. Learned that lesson long ago. Thanks again

I've researched this a good amount. Michelin CrossClimate would be my pick for occasional snow. Second and third pick (in no order) would be the Vredestein Quatrac Pro and the Continental CrossContact.
