Remote 3D view doesn't show surroundings?

BMW Connected - Remote 3D View is still not working in IOS14 General Release.

I'm on 07/2020.35 everything worked fine with the prior IOS release. With IOS 14 I only get grey surroundings.

I am just curious why do people want to update software to the latest (for phone and for car)? From my experience, updating software almost always introduce some unexpected problem. Especially nowadays, we have complicated software on cars and on phones. When any one of them update,there's bound to have interoperability issues. Personally, I stay with a stable release as long as possible... Working closely with software ppl on a daily basis, I know they are mostly fixing bugs. But if I don't have to, I don't wanna touch something that is working fine.

IOS14 General Release is stable. BMW has had months while IOS14 was in beta to fix this issue in Connected. No excuse.

I tried several times and I know get an error that I can only make max. 3 remote 3D views per 2 hours.
Didn't know that. Probably privacy regulation...

Just tried it again and mine still works normally on iPhone X. Seems to be an exception.

The limit of max 3 I have seen before myself.

Tbh it is nice to have but I didn't find a real purpose except showing my family and colleagues how cool it is. Maybe when you use valet parking to check where it is parked.

I downgraded my iphone 11 to ios 13.7 and 3D works again.

Yes I am on the same connected drive version.

Can't it be a problem with authorisations? This doesn't explain why mine still works because I didn't have to change anything.

No, doesn't seems to be authorization issue but more of a rendering issue. My old pictures from 3D View gallery which were displayed properly before iOs 14 upgrade are now greyed out after the upgrade.

3D view is allowed, I'm on the same CD version.
It works on iOS 13.7 but not on iOS 14. So far I can tell all the settings are the same.

I just looked at the pictures in my gallery and a can view them without problems.

Anyone else having normal 3D functionality, can't believe I am the only one being able to use it in iOS 14.

Ps the new backgrounds of CarPlay make it look much better. I chose the first one in alway dark mode.

But you are on 03/2020. Maybe that's reason?
I can't find any other reason if iOS and CD version are the same.
