IMO those with HEA cars are the "First editions". This is rather pointless...

Wow. I was planning on getting the matte paint on the new M3. Not so inclined after reading your comments. Thanks for the heads up.

The Frozen Dark Silver looks very classy. BMW is stepping up the competition with the car designs.

They look nice, but hasn't the shop sailed for a First Edition? My dealer already has a X5M and X6M so how is this a launch First Edition.

Love the interior but personally I would steer well away from frozen paint. A far better option is the Xpel satin PPF that X5MC_LI has.

It's good BMW are generating more interest in them - it must be pretty tough to sell cars at the moment so good on them for trying something to do so.

I've had matte on a motorcycle and it was the worst ever! Looks amazing but keeping it clean was a nightmare and it scratched super easy. There are things you can do to protect it, like a FULL matte PPF wrap and then ceramic coating to reduce the dirt build up so fast. If you have time to take care of it, it's worth it but if not run don't look back run away. LOL

Man, i don't understand cars with white interiors. Do you just not wear jeans in them or do you have to cover up the seats with something every time you get inside? My coworker has a S class and her seats are or should i say, were, white. She now has to cover them with like a blanket every time she drives the car.

Ceramic coat the seats and problem solved. Have it done correctly though....

Very nice. This means the frozen paint finishes will be now available on all the X and Z models in the future, as this was not available before at the Spartanburg factory.

I was interested 2 years ago in a frozen color and discussed with a senior BMW M engineer who was my instructor at the Ring for 2 days. He told me to avoid frozen paints at all costs, as it only looks good in the showroom.

Maybe OK for the people who baby their M's as a weekend driver for a frozen color, but as DD, no way!

very nice, I guess the price tag on these will be in 140k neighborhood with no chance of discount but then again there gonna be only 250 of each!
Frozen colors always stand out at every meet but I'd rather take the PPF route as many mentioned!

I show classic 911’s at a profession concourse level for decades. I won’t get frozen/matte paint on any vehicle. That speaks volumes into how unforgivable the paint surface is. It’s a disposable paint finish.
You can’t fix any minor imperfections or scratches without a total respray. Any minor scratch from a jacket zipper, can’t be buffed out in 2 minutes to perfection again as you typically would with traditional paint. Your car might as well be made out of hot caramel because it’s gonna show marks on the way home from the dealership. You have to be the kind of person that doesn’t care about scratches and marks to own frozen paint. My dealership will not order in frozen paint unless the owner insists they want it. PPF is the only way to have this look.

Always had a white or light colored interior and never had a problem.
Looks way classier than black and doesn't burn your arse when you get in.

Jeans are for cowboys. Haven't worn them in years and don't own 1 pair. The Oyster Seats in my BMWs have always looked great after years of ownership.
