Just to run 240V? I paid less than half that to get a 120V run to our spots so that I could plug in a battery tender. I paid less than half of that to get a 240V drop for our pool heater in FL. Also, for $2k, I am not including the actual charger, just the power drop.

Correct. Water does not work on lithium ion battery fires unless you can submerge the entire battery unit. Thermal runaway is thermal runaway. And the gases that come off the fire will turn your lungs into popcorn in one breath. In the age of EVs you couldn't pay me to live in a condo with underground parking. EVs are complete trash.

It all depends on what they want to install. A super charger can draw 300 amps. A level 2 60 amps. 60 x 32 . Basically a new 2000 amp service minimum. Transformer + switch gear + everything else adds up. Assuming you can add 2k amps to your location. You likely want individual meters per drop/parking space so people pay for what they use. 32 60 amp runs through an existing underground parking structure + the chargers + ballards + everything. It is going to add up FAST.

People try and put a 8 kW solar system on their house and can be told they need to pay 30k in upgrade fees. Not often but it all depends on the feeder they are on and its capacity. Level 2 chargers can draw 20 kW basically. So a 640kW draw peak you want to add to the property.

Lets pretend the cost is only 500k that means a 16k check as to be cut up front. You want to drop 16k to charge your car, which will also cost you money. Average cost for an ICE car is $1100 a year in gas. So basically 15 years to break even not including the cost to charge your ev. That would push the roi out to 18+ years. You staying at that condo for 18 years to get your money back on your investment? Your condo is not instantly worth 16k more because of an ev charger. Also, good luck on your EV charger lasting 18 years without needing replacement. Who wants to break even 18 years later with an old ass ev charger? I just do not see how the numbers work.

I would love to know to real estimate of the job.

Edit: all of this ignores the space requirements. You will not have 32 parking spaces anymore.
