2022 X5M Rear View Mirror

My wife has an X5M on order and I'm trying to get a radar detector mount for it when it comes in, but I need to know the mirror style they are putting in the cars right now. According to Blend Mount, there are three possible styles.

Wondering if anyone who has a '22 X5M could be so kind as to post a picture of their review view mirror from the passenger side, using the same angle as this image:

BTW, I initially wanted to do the mount, then realized using the one provided more convenient in case I want to place it lower /higher or even placed near the cup holders for states where it is prohibited. the hanging wire though doesn't bother me, maybe it does for others!

I have one in my M5, after years of using the stupid suction cup, this mount with a hardwire is WAY better. So cleaner and frees up the entire cup holder area.

I did mine with the blend mount and would never go back to the regular radar mounts. So good!

What’s the process to remove the mirror trim. I’ve heard people broke clips I’m trying to split it but goodness it doesn’t seem to play nice.

I tried the blend mount for my x6mc, but the vibration while driving was making the mirror vibrate as well and was driving me nuts. I ended using the glass mount that came with my detector 360c redline.

Ok maybe it’s because I’m a Florida man, but how fast do y’all be driving!!?? Lol. I mean I definitely hit on the interstate, but rarely into speeding ticket territory. Or are other state’s highway patrol that agressive. Smokey can get you in some (read: most) of the rural counties and make your life miserable but it’s not so bad to the point where I need a fuzz buster. Please inform me!

So I’ve been trying to remove the mirror trim following those instructions and it would seem that it’s been very difficult to try to remove it. Am I missing something somewhere I push the clips the sides of the mirror nothing changes does anyone have a video of this I’d rather not break it, or risk, potentially crack in the windshield.

I’m very mechanical, so excuse me for feeling stupid

I have a 2024x5m and it was super easy. It consist of 3 pieces. The one on top, you just pull it down from the part that meets the alcantara/headliner. It pulls out all the way. Then the second one splits into two pieces. Basically separate the middle where each trim piece meet and once separated just pull apart from each other. I used this video since it is very similar. Good luck.

Oh damn. Try order another one. In the meanwhile try to see if it holds together when installed back without that clip. Look at the video he explains the power and where to connect it. I did what Kies said and works.

There are two “clip” connectors. Power and negative go in different “clips”. I didnt even remove them. I sticked the hardwires from there.

You let the car go to sleep mode? Lock it and put the key away from car for 1-2 minutes and come back without the key and observe the radar.
