Got my car today

Happy with my combo and result.

Drove back home and really liked the ride, the comfort, feels like I'm driving a big beast on the highway. Didn't really get the chance to get a sense of pull or speed since there was plenty of traffic but it sure does feel fast. You easily get up to speed, even driving fully electric it feels solid.

Couldn't notice transition to gasoline engine either to be honest. I put it in sports mode a couple of times and it all feels super smooth.

Didn't use the battery completely since I mixed modes (trying it out) while driving back home. Charging it up now.

The trunk does have an elevated first part so a little bit less space than in a regular non-hybrid X5.

same exterior options I took, the more pictures I see, the more I fall in love. It will be a long wait until March 2020 :/

Thanks

The colour is stunning, it shifts in the light as I have seen on online pictures.

For the rest still figuring out settings and all, lots of explanations, lots of possibilities and options so will take me some time to get used to all of it.

Don't have charger station yet, was still looking at options and had to check if the car fits properly in my garage which it does (close call though) so that will be next step. It's currently charging up using regular wall socket which for some reason is restricting me to charge at max 10 Ampère so will take from now till 3 AM to fully charge it up again

Not sure why the car isn't going higher - 16 Ampère should be possible using just the wall socket but I need to check / read up on it I suppose

Hi, the car looks stunning. What colour is it?

Would like to hear about performance, electric running etc once you have had a chance to use it a bit more.

I’m hoping the colour is Tanzanite Blue II as I have that colour/wheel combo, along with dark grill, on the way and that photos looks amazing!

It is indeed Tanzanite Blue. In real life you see the many different colour flakes in the paint, looks amazing

Looks like they are delivering like crazy in Belgium.

Spotted one "in the wild" yesterday. Was parked in one of the 'board' parking spots at work. :-)

Only two weeks wait for mine.

note: it's debadged. I thought this was not possible in Belgium.

Sorry for the low-light pictures.

Wow congratz.

The car looks amazing. And you couldn't have picked a nicer day to pick it up.

Are you considering to have it wrapped or coated? I made an appointment to have it picked up at the dealer the moment it arrives and have it Exel PPF wrapped / Ceramic coated while waiting for license plates and papers to arrive.

Probably debadged by the dealership or by the owner

I had mine coated as well as getting an additional leather treatment before taking it for delivery

The badge doesn't bother me at all right now, I was thinking about debadging or making it black but it's very subtle and small enough really

You can surely get rid off using fishing thread but since it's meant to be a recognition point for fire department that it's a hybrid, I'll leave them on the car

That is just ridiculous, there are enough electric vehicles from factory without such a badge.
The charging lid is then also a recognition point.
I don't buy this load of fire department BS from BMW.

I would presume they are professionals that don't solely rely on a badge or a lid. Badging can be hidden or destroyed. In a first responser field guide I read: always assume the vehicle is some type of hybrid, electric vehicle or alternative fueled vehicle until proven otherwise.
There is no rational ground for not debadging the car. It's not even a law or regulated because there are electric vehicles from factory whithout badges. So why is BMW giving a hard time to debadge it
Mine will be debadged for sure

I think in Belgium the max charging capacity using the regular power sockets is 2.3 KW which aligns with 10 Amp, so I think that's your limit without a charging point (wallbox)

I have been trying to figure out myself what to buy to get the best charging time. From what I understand people usually have a 1 phase line which tops at 16Amp.
The 45e is limited to a charging capacity of 3.7KW (by the car itself). Not sure about this, hard to find these details or I'm clearly missing it somewhere.

So I'm assuming having a 1 phase wallbox will be enough to reach the fastest charging time possible with this car. Having more will not make the car charge any faster because the limit is the car.

I have been looking at a wallbox from Pulsar
(https://wallbox.com/nl_be/pulsar-typ...kw-enkelfasige)

Hope to read some info from drivers that have they 45e already to give some feedback/info on this. It would be very helpful to me as a newbie hybrido :-)
