BMW x5 45e US release?

Anyone know when BMW x5 45e will be released in United States? Was hoping to get it in 3 months.

I think that is very optimistic. If you order now a 45e in Belgium they say 12 months. I ordered in July 2019 and hopefully it will see the production line one of the following weeks. If not I really will be pi$$ed

I ordered in January this year and looks like it may be a 2021 car at this rate!

Ordered November... dealer can’t grive a date, but the car is a few hundred km away... BMW just starts invoicing cars again to dealers ... As long as they don’t have the invoice, they cannot have the cars delivered...

I did not know it was that popular, in US the 7-series electric are available with huge discounts. Also thought American ones will be made in US, so coming from different batch?

All X5's, I guess Chinese could be an exception, are made in the US.

Edit: I did a little research and it looks like no X5's are made in China but they are made in Chennai India.

Just talked to my SA about this, he said there is currently no ETA for US sales. Some of it due to factories being closed, some just because nothing is coming from BMWNA.

Is there are a significant market in the US for such a plugin hybrid car? I buy this only for fiscal reasons because of national and EU tax regulations.

There is, it is much smaller than the EU though. PHEVs allow the best of both worlds, good gas mileage, some all electric range and the ability to still take it on long road trips (which are possible on full electric, but take a lot longer).

I ordered mine here in Belgium mid November 2019. It got produced in February, left the US port of Charleston beginning of March and arrived in Zeebrugge the 6th of April...where it spent a month on the parking lot due to Corona.

Finally got delivered last Friday !

If you want to know where your car is, ask the VIN number to your dealer, and past following link in a web browser, with the XXX at the end replaced by your full 17 digit vin number

Has anyone posted the regular 2021 BMW X5 (G05) Ordering Guide and/or Pricing List?

Thanks in advance.

No mention of the on board charger rating, I guess it is still the same?

No, unfortunately I don't. I would imagine it, as well as the guides for the "regular" G05s, will be available soon.

Is this really true that neither full Merino leather nor even the leather dashboard option is available for the 45e? Have these options been removed for all 2020 X5s or just the new 45e?

I have a 2017 40e coming off lease next month and am planning on the 45e as a replacement. I have the Nappa leather dashboard in the current vehicle and love it. It would be a real disappointment if it's not even available in the new model.

Perhaps this has to do with the move to a new seat supplier and affects all X5s? Because if BMW has made some assumption that the 45e is just for economy and environment minded people who won't buy more luxurous fittings, that would be a serious mistake.

Unfortunately as of now that is what is available. Where did you hear they are changing seat suppliers? I don't think we have heard that on here?

Oops, it seems I misread the thread about the X5 seat quality issues. I guess the seat supplier was changing into this G05 generation, and not once again for this upcoming year. My mistake.

But it still makes zero sense that the 45e would have fewer luxury options available than even the sDrive 40i. I wonder what the rationale is, or if we'll see a similar cutback to the other X5 models. Maybe a move to create further differentiation with the X7?

I have the Full Merino and Leather Dashboard on my 45e xLine.

In hindsight I would have ordered the Extended Leather instead. Yes the lower dash is leather and possibly some of the trim on the centre console but it's not a lot for the big difference in price. When lockdown ends I'm going to compare against my father's to see if there are any other trim differences.

It's worth noting that on the xLine, Full Merino also gives you the Alcantara headlining, which is really very nice indeed.

I thought this might shed some light...
It says deliveries later this year.

As a 45e owner i can recommend it, if you plug it in it is a great compromise between petrol and electric.
